In the heart of historic blues town Clarksdale, Hooker Grocer Operates from an old Commissary with a family friendly casual dining affair. Head Chef Johnny Cass is an award winning Australian chef that has been living in Clarksdale for 4 years. Johnny has compiled a list of dishes that are local faves as well as some southern classics with a twist. Hooker Grocer has and inspired team of chefs that change the menu constantly using seasonal produce. Jay Brennan and Mathew Lishman are the other part of our kitchen team. Sushi is on every second wednesday and Italian night every Thursday.

Great place to get a meal in Clarksdale. I had eaten a pork chop from out in front of Reds blues club and I wasn’t terribly hungry. I ordered the mushroom risotto appetizer. Simply deliciously moist with an awesome truffle flavor. Unfortunately the Cosmopolitan tasted extremely weak. Service was friendly, however it took over twenty minutes to get the food. Nice atmosphere.

Loved it so much we ate there 2 days in a row! Johnny the exec chef greeted us at the table, the food was so very good, and there was live music! Better than that, the performer (Luscious) was kind enough to invite our friend to play a song.

Stopped here for our 10yr Anniversary and it didn’t disappoint. The service was great, with a smile. The drinks were made well and they had a few local beers on tap. The food was awesome. Highly recommend.
