After 5 years in Statesboro this is hands down the best food I ever had here. The staff was nice and polite, the vibes were good, a nice local spot and THE FOOD WAS AMAZING it’s def worth the drive. The brisket and brunt ends, Mac and bake beans was delicious every single bite. I will for sure come back and bring others with me. Thank you for the wonderful experience it was GOOD.

Husband and i ordered bbq/ribs, with mac/chz, potato salad and coleslaw. The potato salad and coleslaw were warm & that was the first red flag. The food taste great but at 2am the stomach pains came. (You get the picture) The environment could have been cleaner also.

Driving up on Hopeulikit BBQ, it looks like the kind of place only the locals know about. You know, the kind you hope to find whenever traveling to a new place. The kind you slip a $20 to the concierge to share the secret location with you because its in plain sight but you might pass it by. Do not pass it by. Seek it out. Hunt it down. Make it your mission to come here and eat the best BBQ to have ever passed your lips. You might be tempted to get the pulled pork sandwich, a good choice everywhere and certainly here as well. But trust me when I say, get the sliced brisket. Do yourself and your tastebuds a solid and just do it. You will not regret stopping here. Say hi to Kelly Lee. Ask him to tell his wife Missy hi too! You won’t meet any nicer folks and won’t get better service!

Statesboro used to have a good history of BBQ. It fell off decades ago after the original Vandy’s was first sold. Then the area went a long time without having a good and consistent place for BBQ. Then along came Hopeulikit BBQ. The meat is the focus, as it should be, and the men and women at the store put their hearts and passion into what you are eating. It shows. Statesboro has never had brisket, burnt ends, home smoked turkey. Now it does and it stacks up with anything you can put it against. The turkey is the best turkey I have ever had and I do not eat turkey unless it’s Thanksgiving. The short drive out is so worth it and it is a local FAMILY business and they deserve all the support the community can offer. The owners, co-workers and every person there contributes to make it an amazing place. Even my kids will eat BBQ now.

Best bbq in Statesboro hands down. Everything on the menu is a winner. They blow Dolans out of the water when it comes to flavor and value. I highly recommend this place if you want some really good bbq and hospitality! The only thing I will say is that I wish they were open more days a week but it’s not worth taking off a star because the food is seriously worth it.
