A Warren institution but my first visit. Friendly service. No crowd; we beat the lunch rush. Ordered cheddar chili dogs and fries. The dogs were small. Cheese sauce and onion topping were ok. Buns very fresh. But the chili sauce was very poor, little more than spiced ketchup. I’ve had a lot of chili dogs with real hearty chili sauce. This stuff was not hearty. The fries were served hot but with no seasoning. And once they cooled off…yuk. Probably won’t be back if I have a choice. I will give them props for the wheelchair access ramp. It was well done.

The Hot Dog Shoppe is a classic in the city of Warren, OH. Even with the rise of lnflation the prices are still very fair. You could even order a burger if you prefer. Lots of parking space as well. Cherry cola , milkshakes, and Chili Cheese Fries.

Completely disappointed! I have been going to The Hot Dog Shop In Warren my entire life, 48 years to be exact! What in the HECK happened to the original sauce? It is NOT the same and entirely disappointed in the new ownership for changing it. I understand that you want to make the business your own but why would you mess with the sauce?

Food is great as always! I’m glad we only got one serving of fries because the large is LARGE. Make sure you get them with cheese because it’s the best! It’s a great place for a cheap meal with family! They also have bar style seating if you don’t want to wait for a table.

We had 1 plain hot dog and 2 with chili cheese. Also had French fries which was the best part of the meal. The hot dogs were so so were not as good as years ago. The server was great she was fast with our food and checked back. Unfortunately we won’t be back there’s other restaurants and bars that have much better hot dogs.

Only have a quick second to sit down? Want to get take out the American way! Love chili sauce and milkshakes? Come to the original hot dog shop, serving up dogs, fries, shakes, and for me, great burgers! Always get sauce on whatever you order plus or minus cheese. I’m only back home about once a year now but hot dog shop is always on the list
