First off I’m not used to fancy Chinese. I thought this was going to be like normal Chinese from my small town go to. We started with grab ragoons. They were very creamy. But not sweet like the ones I like. The sauce actually came on my chicken. Which I was not used to and the general tsos sauce was very spicy. The rice was plain fried rice with no veggies. A little hard. Over all it was too fancy for me. U just gotta try it for yourself. I didn’t particularly like it. But you might.

We’ve been coming to House of Hunan for over 20 years and are so glad to know that they are back open after covid. Note that they have limited hours, dinner doesn’t open until 5pm now, (there’s a line up to get in at 5) and I think the lunch time serving is curbside only. Call first as this may change from time to time. The dining room is large and can accommodate families of 8-10 pretty easily, but also has booths around the perimeter for the smaller more intimate dining experience. The staff is always friendly and professional, with quick service, little wait time after placing your order. My favorite dish has always been General Tso’s Chicken , and although my dish tonight was a bit chewy (not tender like I’m used to) I did not send it back. I’ll give them another try. I really don’t think it was the chicken, but it seemed more like it was the batter surrounding the chicken, maybe it stayed in the wok a little too long? Don’t be afraid to go and give them a chance to make a good returning customer of you too!

We ordered take out for the first time tonight, I was super excited to try the place but it was honestly so disappointing.

Great food, you won’t find better Chinese food in Marion. I have been going to House of Hunan for over 35 years and I’m never disappointed with the food or service. Large portions, best wonton soup I’ve found anywhere. Hunan beef is my personal favorite (I like spicy food) The price is very reasonable. If you haven’t eaten here you are missing out.

The girl that took my order acted like she didn’t even know how to do and when I got my food the people prior to me they read off everything that there was in their bags and stuff like that my bag was slammed on the on top of the counter maybe really feel like that maybe I wasn’t one in there and really I’ve been to this restaurant I have moved to Columbus and come back for their food before not no more I will not be back just because the way I was treated I spent over $40 for two dinners

Ate here many times with no issues. Nice place with very friendly and helpful staff. Food has been great and restaurant very clean with no sticky tables! They will customize any of their dishes to suit your tastes or needs. Just ask. My favorite is the Kung Pao Chicken with added veggies. Favorite appetizer is Minced Chicken lettuce wraps.

The food isn’t good. It’s not flavorful. It mostly tastes like grease. I’m really disappointed. They even managed to make Crab Rangoon taste bad.

I love house of hunan, but I feel like they have changed some of the recipes. The wonton and hot and sour soup don’t taste the same. The wonton has been bland, and the hot and sour tastes like it was cooked with a ton of white pepper and I don’t appreciate the sour anymore. I initially thought it was a one-time thing, but i first noticed it in 2021 I hot the twice cooked pork, and the veggies were not cooked. But on a hood note, the Mandarin chicken and egg rolls are still amazing as ever!

The food and service is wonderful, but the location next to a defunct mall in an otherwise empty shopping center is sad.
