House of Kabobs is a small mom and pop shop in Sunnyvale.

A homely Persian restaurant in downtown Sunnyvale. It’s run by a friendly couple. We tried the platter with beef and lamb kebabs, chicken tikka and saffron rice. The meat was juicy and flavorful, especially the kebabs and went well with rice. The lavash with yogurt dip (with cucumber) was also tasty and the dip also paired well with rice and the meats. Rice was fragrant and fluffy. They have a roasted tomato on the side which enhances the flavor of the dish. Service was quick, meat is halal and portion sizes are large.

I have always liked the food at House of Kabobs, esp the Kabob Koobideh, Fesenjoon & Ghorme Sabzy. I’d also recommend the pistachio ice cream for a nice treat! The food is always fresh and tastes really good, whether ordered at the restaurant or through delivery.

Chicken koobideh kabobs were juicy and Kashk Bademjan (eggplant appetizer) was good too.

Totally disappointed. Not sure how this place received even 3.5 stars. The person who took our order was very rude. We had ordered one of their stews, ‘ghormeh sabzi’ and the lady told us they don’t have enough left. We agreed to order something else. After a few minutes she came back to tell us that they have enough of it for one order. Later when she brought the stew, it was very diluted and we could tell that they added water to it to increase the portion size. There were barely any red beans or herbs. I have had ghormeh sabzi at other places and I know how the dish tastes and looks. Their portion sizes are also smaller than other place and definitely not worth the price. The tea they had served was also barely lukewarm. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK NOR WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

Good for an oriental-style dinner. The meat and especially the rice was well sized. I would have liked if the meal would have included a (small) side salad.

Basic kebob with rice. Good food, but a tad over priced. The rice with barberries is delicious but with a one chicken kabob, for $16, seems a bit high.
