I can’t say enough good things about the quality of food at “House of Shaw.” My favorite is the chapli kabob and shaw fries which I’ve included a picture. The restaurant is always clean and located in the quaint downtown woodland area with adequate parking and a bunch of boutiques close by if you wanted to shop afterwards.

I gave them 3 stars because the menu was not specific. We ordered a 2 kabob meal and the description of the kabob meal says any 2 kabobs. A Kabob description on the menu says 5 pieces of meat. So I expected 10 pieces for 2 kabobs. But instead we got 3 pieces of each meat. We called and the way that it was explained to us is that when you order a mixed Kabob it’s only 3 pieces of meat each. This was a little confusing and a little misleading. I just felt like it wasn’t a whole lot for what we paid for. However the food was good.

Wonderfully flavored and prepared Afghani style food. Can get a bit loud and echoey eating inside, but the food is fabulous

Wow!! What mouthful of flavor in the middle of downtown Woodland. We got the dumplings…super yummy and could be a meal , but advertised as a shareable; a ground beef patty kabob with cumin seasoned rice which we shared; and the ice cream dessert. The vanilla ice cream was sprinkled with cardamom and pistachio. I could/would eat that all day long. It was large enough to share with 3 other adults and a two year old. My eating comrades really enjoyed their meals, too. We drove from Sacramento and Davis and would do it again. This is a causal dining experience and has seating for about 25 to 30 people. Super nice cashier. We will be back. Good vegetarian options.

Great food! We asked for some authentic and popular dishes. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We got three shared plates and one chicken dish. The eggplant was amazing. The dumplings were fantastic. Everything was delicious. $34 total. We ate outside to enjoy the good weather.

I’m always one for design and House of Shah has one of those beautiful, woody, indie vibes that makes for a calming atmosphere while you enjoy some really good food. I went basic American and got the kabob burger with Shah fries, but it was so good and you could tell the buns and fries were made fresh in house. The flavour profile was bright and spicy, especially with the jalapeño and cilantro on the fries. The price was moderate, but you get what you pay for.

The Shah is in our top 2 places to eat…we like the unique way they spice and flavor the chicken and rice, the spinach sabsi, and everyone should try different entrees and sides on the menu. Nice blend of exotic, yet substantial and nutritious dishes. The people working are charming.
