Took some take out but the staff was so friendly and the place looked cozy, so it was tempting to stay! We got a burrito and a chimichanga both of which were tasty and good portions, although they don’t come with sides so larger appetites might care to add something like chips and guac/queso, which was also on the menu. Overall happy with the experience!

I like this place. Fry bread tacos are a guilty pleasure. Is it authentic Mexican? No. But is it tasty in its own right? Yes. Staff is friendly, prices are quite fair. The food is quite filling and the ambience is relaxed. They have recently begun branching out in terms of the menu, so there’s new options to try. Well worth the stop. Just enjoy the fry bread for the crispy/ chewy perfection that it is, and stop trying to point out that it isn’t authentic

This was our second visit here. My wife and I ordered beef burritos and their chicken black bean tortilla soup. The staff was helpful, friendly and efficient. The burritos are huge and tasty. The soup was hot and fresh. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. We will definitely be back.

The fry bread “tortilla” was good. Good topping options. We got a pork and kraut taco and it was very good. Also got a chicken taco, it was just OK. Skip the beans and rice (kind of plain) and get two tacos if you are hungry. Place is worth trying when in grand Marais for a quick bite. I will definitely go back and try some more of the tacos.

Under the recommendation of a friend, we decided to give it a try. We were NOT disappointed! I had the chicken Chimichanga and my wife had a fish taco. Both were excellent! The service was very friendly and gave suggestions as to what additional ingredients were most popular with each entree. I recommend the chips and salsa too along with a Mexican Coke!

Doesn’t look like much on the outside, but it’s a cool, original atmosphere inside with the best fish taco my husband and I have ever had! Small town feel with great service – I would recommend it to anyone looking for good food. Best ma n’ pa taco shop in Minnesota! ♥
