Visiting from nearby city. The lake at night felt just like being oceanfront. We opted to sit our party outside. Near the bar there is self seating and we were able to pull up 10 chairs. Our waitress was quick and pleasant. Our crowd favorites were fried fish sandwich and shiner steak fajitas. Will definitely return.

I visited this place with a friend. The food was good. We ordered a Pu Pu platter and shared it. It was a lot of food we couldn’t finish it. The salsa and chips were excellent. It was a very busy Saturday around 1 pm and the wait staff was a bit scattered but our service was fine. We had to scan the QR code on the table for the menu. No big deal but be prepared for that.

Hawaiian theme Mexican cuisine. One of the Best Restaurant in Austin. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Best Mexican food with Hawaiian Vibe. Their Complimentary Nachos and salsa best taste ever . They Have freshly made tortillas and tacos . If weather is Sunny and Good I recommend for outside dine. I ate a fried avocado tacos and it’s Delicious and So Fresh. Love the Vibe and food.

Hula Hut is a very enjoyable eclectic restaurant. Food has a non-traditional Mexican flavor, with incredible homemade tortillas. It is fun to look at the decorations and the river directly adjacent to the restaurant. The only downside is that the shortage of parking in front of the restaurant may require you to park across the street…not a biggy!

Loved Hula Hut, right on the water and a good spot to catch the sunset. The frozen lime margaritas on a hot day were great. The food was fine and worth it not being absolutely fantastic for the drinks and location.

Hula Hut has been one of my favorite restaurants for over 20 years. The food, atmosphere, and service have always been excellent! However, during my recent visit, I was disappointed with my first impression. Specifically, the chips were stale and yellow, whereas they used to be thin and crispier. In addition, the taste of the veggie pipeline enchilada, which I usually order, was also different. Instead of one large enchilada with rice and beans, there were three small individual enchiladas. Even the taste of the rice and beans was completely different. I also ordered a fajita plate, but it was much smaller compared to how it used to be, and the meat tasted awful. When I asked the server about the changes, he informed us that the restaurant has a new owner who has altered the portion sizes and recipes. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to one of my favorite restaurants in Austin, Texas.
