After living in North Carolina for the past 20 years, two families have united by their heritage and love of authentic Jamaican cuisine to bring Concord a touch of the Caribbean. Two of the owners were born and raised in Jamaica, while the third is of Caribbean descent, bringing a wealth of cultural knowledge and passion to our unique and transformative dining experience in Concord North.
We have been dedicated to providing delicious and nutritious meals to our family, friends, and those in need within our community. Wow! This place is a hidden gem. Went today and had the most delicious oxtail I’ve ever had. I loved the atmosphere and the food was amazing. I am glad they decided to open here in concord. Concord needed a good Jamaican spot like this.

I deliver for ubereats from here from time to time and finally decided to try it out myself. Food was delicious and the amount of food was enough for 2 people (large jerk chicken with plantains and resta rice). Excellent customer service. Will be adding this place to my rotation of places to eat.

This was my second visit to Hummingbird Jamaican restaurant. The first time I tried it, me and my wife got the beef patties and the Jamaican cream soda, we were pleased. The second visit we ordered the large oxtail plate with rice and peas and the plantains. We were extremely disappointed, the owner said he cuts his own oxtails, they were small and the Meat was kind of chewy not tender, worst than that it wasn’t flavorful at all. The rice was not much better, the gravy was thin and watery not a good consistency and the sweet plantain was not very sweet. The portion size was terrible, they loaded the plate with rice and very little oxtails. My family is from the Caribbean and this was the worst oxtail plate, I’ve ever purchased here in NC… I recently move to Concord from Charlotte and the Jamaican food in Charlotte was 100x better. I really was trying to give this restaurant a chance but, I felt swindled out of my hard earned money (paid $31 w/tip) for one large plate. I may try the beef and chicken patties again but not anything else! I hope they do better, I’d like to see this small family business flourish.

Ordered take-out. The food was great, great service and hospitality. Definitely will be trying different dishes here. My tray had a lot of food in it. The oxtails were tender and very well seasoned.
