The person who took our order displayed impatience, unkindness, and interrupted us multiple times while we were placing it. We specifically ordered a vegan fried rice. However, when we arrived home, we discovered a fried egg on it. Even if a restaurant serves the most delicious food, without ethical practices and proper treatment of customers, it becomes challenging for the company. I feel sorry for that individual; they require training. That visit was my first and last to that establishment.

We’ve ordered from Hunan Cafe multiple times and we’re always impressed by the food. It’s within walking distance from us and our order is always ready by the time we arrive which is perfect! I tried the wonton soup today and I’m so glad I did! I ordered a small and was surprised by the size. The seasme chicken and fried rice is my go to order. The sweet and sour chicken is also good! I don’t know what the 1 star reviews are about, I’ve never been disappointed by this restaurant and would highly recommend you give it a try!

So I just ordered from here wanting to try it out as I had never have before. I got the curry fried rice, kung pao chicken and hot and sour soup. The curry friend rice was great. The king pao though is so heavily breaded and most of it quite literally just the breading or flour and not actual chicken….the hot and sour soup though was the most horrendous thing I’ve experienced from a restaurant. It’s usually my favorite dish in American-Chinese cuisine but this was so thick, it had the consistency of jello! It’s normally a soup with slight thickness but this was almost a solid. I thought it was just how it looked and would taste fine but I had to spit it right out.

NEGATIVE STARS! First time I ordered food, delivery took almost an hour; I ordered on the phone and they called back asking for a tip even though I had already included it. The “chef’s special” general tso’s “chicken” was just sggy breading and I only found maybe 6 pieces of actual chicken at most. After almost 50 minutes of waiting, there was no apology and just a pathetic “we’re busy.” I’m never ordering from Hunan Cafe again and I don’t recommend you do either.

This place was great. The food was delicious and was ready super fast! The staff were nice and the portions were very generous. I read the reviews before coming and I know a lot of the one star reviews are just wrong. I love how professional the owner was with his replies so I decided to eat and write a review after, which I have never written a reviews for any restaurant before. The food was great and I’m happy to make this my first review.

I’m not sure why their rating is only a 3.6. I’ve been to many cities throughout China, 4 times, for a total of about 2 months. Maybe it is what I order from here but, I can tell you that, if you order authentic Chinese dishes, you will get authentic Chinese dishes. Add to that the relatively low price and, IMHO, you have the best Chinese food in the area. By far. Maybe you don’t get a warm, fuzzy feeling when you order from them, but that is similar to China too!
