Hunan Chef came in so clutch by being open until midnight (2-3 hours later than most Chinese restaurants). My expectations were normal but my mind was blown by how tasty my food was after I started eating. I’ve never paid so little for such a great meal. The guy behind the counter is one of the friendliest people I’ve ever met and I can’t wait to keep coming here.

This is a straight forward take-out Chinese food restaurant. There are tables to dine, if you would like to stay, but don’t expect an Asian fusion atmosphere. The food is good, with ample servings and reasonable prices. Combo plates served all day starting around $9 with a good variety of favorites. Give them a try.

I ordered food online for delivery through their chowbus food delivery. When my order was taking too long to arrive I called the restaurant and asked for an update on my order and they said the food was made and they were waiting for the delivery driver to pick ut up and deliver it to me. The owner then proceeded to tell me that the online ordering goes through a 3rd party system which they have no control over. Needless to say I never received my food after waiting over 4 hours! The next day which is today Sept. 3rd 2023, I called the restaurant and they said that “she” the delivery driver picked up my food. I never received this food so basically the delivery person stole my food. The owner was very accommodating and said I could have my meal remade as long as I could pick it up which I was fine with and I told her I wouldn’t be able to call and let them know I was coming for my order until 11 pm or so. The restaurant closes at midnight and they assured me that time was fine. Now when I went to call the restaurant at 11:15pm no one answers the phone at all so I’m very done with the whole process and just want my money back. I HIGHLY recommend NOT ordering through their website and having it delivered because your food can get stolen.

This place used to be good, but with a new owner it had definitely changed and not for the better.I recently ate here dine in and it already wasn’t looking appealing inside. But, the lady that took or order was very nice and welcoming. Ordered our foods, and sat down at the table. There were lots of insects flying around us while we were eating. We got our food and wow. The fried rice wasn’t fried rice at all- don’t order fried rice unless you just want rice and oil. I ordered the chicken katsu, and it was really dry and just not enjoyable. The rice was good though. Bad food, decent service.

This was my first visit to Hunan Chef and I was very pleased with the results. Sadly, there is no in-restaurant dining and all orders are “take away” or delivery. I stopped in for a late lunch and took it home. It only took about a 10 minute wait. They do an impressive amount of to go orders that I noted during my short wait. I really enjoyed the Sesame chicken with broccoli, an eggroll, fried rice and a cup of hot and sour soup. Everything was freshly made and still warm and very tasty when I got home. Looking forward to a return visit soon – – even if it’s only “to go”! They have a fairly extensive lunch and dinner menu and I look forward to trying many different items!

WOW !!! The confusion this place has, I order for pick up and hot there and I told them my name twice assuming my order would be ready because I placed the order 25 mins ahead of time and they gave me someone else’s food and I told them and then they did it again for the second time, they gave me someone else’s order. I asked them what was going on and they said that they were barely making it after 40 mins of me placing my order AND THEY WEREN’T BUSY.
