All dished looked and tasted the same, with overuse of sugar. If you respect the culture, respect their food.

This was one of our favorite places when we lived in Vienna 7 years ago. I was feeling nostalgic, so we decided to order some food to take back to our hotel in Mosaic. The young guy who took our order was dismissive and rude. I felt like we were being an imposition, taking time away from him looking at his phone. We sat at a table to wait for our food, and when I got it I specifically asked, “Did you include all the sauces in there?” He responded with a curt, “Yes.” Paying the bill, we included a 20% tip! (stupid me) So, when we got back to the hotel room and opened the bag, there was one packet of soy sauce, one mustard. That was it!!! No dipping sauce for the (burned) fried dumplings, and no sauce for the sweet and sour chicken!!! Of course, we’re not driving all the way back for a container of sauce. So disappointing! I am not sure who took over ownership of this place but the food and service has gone completely downhill. I cannot recommend this place any more.

I am doing this aside from my food blog because I live in this area….This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Vienna area. I’ve tried the trendy places in Mosaic ($$/bad parking), and some of the regular Vienna spots like LG and CV… they’re all good but they feel robotic and all about business. But this place just gives me a feeling to come back, that family mom and pop feel, a brick and mortar vibe which my whole family loves. The staff and owners just have that take-care-of-your-family-first charm. Make sure to order their house spicy oil on the side, gives a great flavor any dish (even when I’m cooking on my own).

Food was extremely dry and unseasoned. Was very skimp on the crispy chicken. Was not worth $60. Had to recook my food just to add flavor also items were not FRESH!!! You can tell that the food was prepared before time of pickup. Extremely disappointed. In my opinion if you want good Chinese food order from China express in Tyson’s. I live walking distance from Hunan but now I will no longer get food from them first and last time customer.

Overall the food was good, and probably the best we’ve had so far in the area. Chicken was cooked well but the fried rice was not that great. Prices weren’t bad either and they had good deals. The young gentleman who took my order however did seem to be very short and not as helpful as he’d could have been, but the older gentleman was very nice and welcoming and even offered me a seat to wait for my order.

This place is a rip-off! Ordered (in person) dinner size sweet and sour pork but realized only when I got home that they overcharged me for it (see 1st pic). The total price should be $11.95 plus 6% sales tax which amounts to $12.67, but they charged me $13.05. Also the quantity of food is a joke, small pieces of pork covered in thick batter. Avoid this place by all means!!

I ordered Da Cheng chicken among other dishes for delivery. I was sent the wrong dish. Instead of sautéed chicken with green peppers, straw mushrooms and water chestnuts I got the deep fried boneless chicken dish with gooey red sauce pictured below. I ordered on line so i verified that my selection was correct. I called restaurant and they denied they sent me the wrong dish and that the dish I was sent was actually Da Cheng even though it does not even remotely resemble, in any way, the description in the menu. Restaurant refused to send the correct dish or refund my money. They did say “sorry about that” which is at least an admission or error. Long story short, the restaurant clearly values money over customer satisfaction. Most restaurants would refund or resend. So, if they get your order wrong, dont expect a correction because the customer does not come first at Hunan Delight. Also, the food was ok. Nothing special. There are better Chinese restaurants in towm

Ordered 2 kung pao chicken, orange chicken and chicken lo mein… my complaint is that kung pao shouldn’t be SWEET!! Not just sweet but way too sweet! it clearly has spicy sign on the menu. When I called, they didn’t seem to care and saying their sauce is sweet n spicy… after work came home thinking I’m going going to have a decent dinner, but couldn’t eat it! Only food that was ok = lo mein…Won’t be ordering anymore.
