Dine is in back. Personally this is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in stl. This is not a cookie cutter restaurant and has good tasting food. The general taso has fresh garlic and ginger in it. The hot and sour soup has a unique restaurant and is absolutely beautiful and I love it. The lunch menu is almost too cheap! There were Definitely issues during covid times with the quality food but now that dine in is back everything back to how I love it.

This is usually my favorite Chinese restaurant, but today it was awful. All the sauces were thin and tasteless. It was like there was no garlic or ginger in the food. The hot & sour soup was spicy, but I didn’t taste any rice vinegar, and it was really sweet, which was weird. Even the fried rice had no flavor. The brown sauce was thin, oily, and tasteless as well. The mushrooms were slimy like they were going bad. The crab rangoon and spring roll were delicious, but everything else was just kinda gross. I was so disappointed.

My family went to have lunch today. We ordered Shrimp egg foo young,Cashew chichen,Pot Stickers and Hot braised chicken wings. Everything was really good and tasty and will be back. Only got a picture of the best wings. Curtis was a excellent server.

The restaurant was very nicely decorated and the service was fast and friendly. However, I was less than impressed with my shrimp lo mein meal. Although the meal had good flavor, the lo mein noodles were a bit dry and somewhat tough.

Ordered from here for dinner on a saturday evening over the phone and they were super nice! Had the food ready within 20 mins and was super hot when I picked it up. FANTASTIC chinese food and way better than chain restaurants. definitely give it a chance!

I have been coming to Hunan Empress for over 20 years. The last five years I have not been in STL, and when I came through this week I knew I had to get my hands on the good stuff! I am writing this review because our dinner tonight was the single best we have had from this place. It was fresh, hot, fast, and unbelievably tasty. When I got in the car with the take out bag the good smells almost knocked me over—I couldn’t wait to get home and have dinner!

Hands down the best Chinese food I’ve ever had in St. Louis and so far, the best I’ve had yet. The food is very good, my go-to is the general tso’s chicken and steamed rice with some crab Rangoon. They give generous portion sizes in relation to the cost, and the employees are always very friendly. Cannot recommend it enough!

First time. And probably not the last! We had the lunch here and the gentleman serving was super friendly. The place was clean. And the food was tasty. The prices are really affordable and for two people it was $20 for soup, rice, vegetable roll, crab rangoon and the full meal. Totally check this one out if you live in the area.

We have been coming here for years. It is pretty much the only Chinese restaurant that we visit. The food is consistently good and well prepared. COVID has changed their method of operation and they have adapted well. The dining area is much smaller now, but their carry out business is through the roof. They can also host parties and celebrations. The same family has run this restaurant for decades now and it has always been at a high level of quality. If you haven’t tried this place, you must.
