My food is delicious and flavorful, and I have a view of the street. So, I can people watch. The service is right on time. The owner walks around greeting customers and making sure they are taken care of. The portions are a perfect size for two. We still have some leftovers for a snack later.

Personally I liked this place it was just easy. They have all the plain standard Chinese-American dishes but what I had did taste good. I’m vegetarian so I just ordered two appetizers for myself but it was just the right amount of food for $12. They had other vegetarian options for what youd expect; rice, noodles, etc. I did not order stir fry veggies like I normally would at a different Chinese restaurant cuz it just looked excessively oily from pictures, but the egg drop soup and veggie fried dumplings were really good. The dumpling sauce (not pictured) is really unique; sour but good.

Underrated GEM!! Great (somewhat fusion) Chinese food. Large portion. Quick and decent service. Free snacking appetizer. Lunch special is totally worth it. There was almost no one in the restaurant when we went. Also free fortune cookies for everyone! Located across the metro station. Love this place! Totally recommend!

Initially we didn’t expect too much given the mediocre review, but the food was actually not bad at all. The portion was very large, so it’s better to have 3-4 people to come together. Some dishes are more like American Chinese food vs authentic Chinese food. The fried rice and long beans were both nicely done. Overall, it’s a nice place for a casual lunch/dinner with families.

Easily the best Chinese food I’ve ever had — blows away the competition in the entire DC area. The servers were excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the food was even better. This place seriously deserves 4-5 stars! I will definitely be incorporating this restaurant into my regular rotation.

One star for the food, three for the delivery. Ordered egg drop soup, but received hot and sour, which was immediately thrown away. Sauce on main dish tasted like soap, so that was tossed as well. An incredible waste of money. Never had problems like this from Hunan Gate before, but once is enough. I won’t be ordering from this restaurant again.
