If you are familiar with the Granite Shoals area you know we are sorely lacking for restaurants. My family was very excited to see a new proprietor take over the location right next to the convenience store where the Happy Cooker used to be, it’s called The Hungry Dog Diner. We gave it a few weeks to shake all the new kinks out and went up tonight to grab a burger. It was extremely fresh, made to order and tasted wonderful. Like a backyard grilled burger that you would make for yourself if you wanted to take the time. The owner is very friendly and accommodating and mentioned he will be offering chicken sandwiches soon. Right now it’s burgers and hot dogs (chili dogs!) and pulled pork. We will definitely go back and we hope he gets a lot of support. Check it out!

SOOO good! Super FRESH, ‘made to order’ & great seasonings. The owner is very warm & welcoming. Although, it took a bit to get our food, it was absolutely worth it! We will definitely be back!

Bobby is awesome. It’s a one-person show at this time, so plan ahead/be patient. And when it’s gone, it’s gone a la Franklin BBQ and others. Highly recommend for the locals and the weekenders.

What a wonderful find! Delicious cheese burger, cooked perfectly. And finally, I found crisp fries! Should have taken pics, but the burgers really hit the spot. Next time, I’ll try the hot dog or pulled pork.

Every time I’m in GS I make sure to pay a visit to the Hungry Dog Diner! The owner/operator does an outstanding job preparing fresh food. The menu is limited but you will not be disappointed! Try the burger and be sure to chat Bobby up as he is very friendly.
