Unfortunately Hungry Howie’s decides to use Every Door Direct Mailer (EDDM) Retail Service from the United States Postal Service. You can see this when the mail is not addressed and where the stamp is supposed to be located it indicates “EDDM RETAIL” on the bottom. This is unfortunately a service you are not allowed to opt out of and businesses can pay by the residential block to have USPS distribute flyers for them. Forcing a potential customer to remove unsolicited marketing trash from their mailbox, that again they are unable to opt out of, is not a positive experience. The only recourse for a consumer is to not use that business and write a review, which is what you see happening here.

I’d give 0 stars if I could. I ordered online and used my bfs card. He got a notice like 10 mins later that the payment was cancelled. When I tracked it online though it still showed being made in progress. 30 mins go by and the order was still showing in this status so I called. A girl answered and my info must have pulled up with my number when I called because she said my order had been cancelled due to being out of the area and she didn’t know how I was even able to place the online order. I responded saying if I hadn’t known the payment was cancelled, based on the site I would have way of knowing my order was cancelled. I asked if there was anything they could do to make that right. She said she would ask her manager if she could offer a credit. She then handed the phone to her “manager” who didn’t even introduce himself. He just got on the line and said “I refunded the money. What do you want?” I explained the situation. He started yelling at me saying he had called the number that was listed 3 times after the order cancelled and it was a different number than this one….uh…no it wasn’t. He said I had already gotten my money back and now I was just trying to get free stuff and this was my fault because it was a web order. I hung up on him. I called corporate and filed a formal complaint. I don’t expect much will happen if anything because it’s a franchise but if this review helps deter people from this location then that’s a start

Rude employees, the food which was one pizza and cheese bread was not worth $48. I pre tipped 20% on my carry out order which was a mistake. Never ordering from this location again. Based off other reviews, these experiences seem to be common here.

Mostly bread. The flavored crust was the only flavor. There was just enough sauce to tint the dough and leave the pizza super dry. Skimpy on the cheese and other toppings too. It was fast and the staff was friendly.

Amazing pizza’s served to the student population at ASU. They are open late night upto 4 am and their delivery service is also good. They have good deals on their mobile app and I never miss out on $2 Tuesday’s Howie’s Bread. Big fan of the garlic and herb crust that they offer. Probably one of the best pizza places in Tempe and a blessing to all the night-owls studying at ASU !
