I ordered the chicken curry. I loved it! Everyone else in my party liked their food. This place is a great addition to the Murfreesboro food scene.

Food is good. I asked for oxtail juice but didn’t receive. The rice & peas were dry but good but had minimal peas and TOO much rice. The jerk chicken portions I received were only 2 small pieces for the amount paid. Better off going elsewhere like kool runnings and/or island vibes.

First time visiting. Wanted to try it all but stuck with oxtail, rice and peas, Mac and cheese, fried chicken and plantains. Out of everything I tried, the greens were the best greens I’ve had from anywhere. The fried chicken skin was flavorful and crispy. The mac was just okay. Oxtail portion was plentiful and the rice was delicious. I love oxtail but forget how fatty it is, so if you’re not a fan of gristle, may want to try another meat item. Can’t wait to try the other entrees like the fish and stew.

Had jerked chicken with plantains and rice with peas. Not as spicy as I expected but very good and a hefty box of food. The staff was friendly too.

I must say I moved from Miami Florida to Tennessee recently and have not had the best meal in the state of Tennessee yet, just two or three stars fast food takeouts but I finally found the best place ever!! I ordered the snapper escovitch meal and it did not fail. Thank you guys so much for preparing my meal it was amazing and it brought me back home with the island feel and Caribbean flavors. Now the only reason why they get four stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ is because the Mac and Cheese is not authentic and bake with the crust on top and again this is not that Miami flavor I’m used to but overall the food was great. I will be a regular at #HungrySpot the crazy thing is Tennessee doesn’t even have authentic Haitian food here not on this side of the county so to find this Jamaican restaurant makes me happy it’s Caribbean and that’s always my go-to and you get full snapper!

Never again new restaurant wanted to try. I’m very well diverse and have eaten many cuisines. I ordered the Oxtail, rice with plantains. The meat was old and dry covered in juice and the rice wasn’t cook well. The plantains were the only thing worth eating. The price was high with low quality of food. The lady who took my order seemed like she could care less. Poor customer service and Food.

Honestly, I want to rate it higher, we have never tried Jamaican food before so was really excited to go for it. The staff was very stand offish and gave this vibe of complacency. I ordered jerk chicken and was really disappointed. It honestly tasted like chicken with kc masterpiece sauce, which didn’t make sense to me. No tropical anything, felt more like a bbq place than Jamaican. I got white rice and Mac n cheese, but the rice is not sticky rice, but rather, cooked in what tastes like a lot of butter which made me nauseous after eating some of it. Not a bad place, but not what I expected.

First time eating inside Hungry Spot! My boyfriend and I ate here when they were just a food truck and wanted to revisit. We got their escovitch fish with yams and fried plantains and browned stew fish with rice and peas and fried plantains. Both were super good with tons of flavor and seasoning!! I really liked the escovitch fish because it had spicy pickled bell peppers and onions, but the browned stew fish with the rice and peas were hands down the best!! Either way, you can’t go wrong when eating here! Also the staff are super friendly and gave great recommendations with the pineapple soda!

The food is good but this last time we came to get food the portions were VERY small. I guess I either got to use to the portions Downtown Nashville or they were just running out of food but instead of saying they were low on sides they just gave smaller portions. Very disappointing thought giving a good tip would insure good portion sizes but I was wrong. It will be a while before we go back costs to much for small sides. The quality of the plantains also went down the Cuba food truck has better plantains. It could have just been that the normal guy wasn’t working when he is there I’ve Never had an issue.
