First and foremost I must say thank you for relocating to Lancaster- as restaurants are needed in this area. I am appalled at the taste of everything I purchased which was $52 worth of stuff. Nothing tasted as if it hadsoul in it- now it looked like it had soul but man was the seasoning absent. I went on a Sunday where there are several options and the line was out the door- I’m blaming it on that and I’m going to still give you guys a try this Wednesday. However, I am sad to report that every bad review I can agree with- the mashed potatoes is straight instant with no seasoning. Meatloaf- no taste I mean not salt or black pepper- Mac and cheese I seen black specs but I didn’t taste them. I pray we get it together, because I’m ready to eat some good food.

Fried chicken wings are well done, well seasoned and hot and fresh. I see why the fried chicken is always selling out. The fries were hot and fresh and seasoned to perfection. The toasted Texas toast was fresh and buttery. I can’t wait to catch Soul Food Sundays here.

I’m actually shocked at the quality of the food I experienced the past Sunday. This is a completely different experience from the previous location. I’m not sure if the owner has different cooks, or just not good cooks at the moment , but nothing was satisfactory. My husband and I purchased the neck bone meal, with a side of roast(because the young lady gave me 4 small neck bones), and the oxtails meal. By the time we made it home 18minutes later, I noticed the roast was refrigerator cold in the center. It was pretty apparent they reheated the food that was made or served on a previous day. I threw the neck bone meal away because it had a smell of old meat. Absolutely nothing was fresh. The dressing was a ball of dry crumbs. What’s sad is I know this owner can actually cook quality food because I have experienced his food on several occasions in the past. Small piece of advice, when it’s your business and reputation, don’t sacrifice quality just to operate and make a dollar. Also, don’t allow several young people to completely run your serving area and service to customers without oversight. In the owner’s defense, I’m sure relocating can take a while to get back in the flow and adjust. The place had visible dirt all over the floors and simply did not appear ready to operate as a business as of yet. Needless to say, I pretty much trashed $60.00 worth of food. For the sake of our need for black owned businesses, I hope things improve with time.

They have very good soul food. I had turkey and dressing, Mac and cheese and corn. My son had meatloaf, green beans and mashed potatoes. Everything was great! They give you a lot. I paid $15 for a plate. It is really worth it♥️♥️♥️next time I will have pictures, because I will most definitely be back.

The food is under seasoned. The mixed vegetables were overcooked, so they were like mush. Their cornbread is sweet, so that’s disappointing. I dont like cake for bread . I don’t think the cooks are tasting their food that their putting out. The service was fine but will not go back.

Went in on a Sunday it was a little bit of a wait but was well worth it. I needed no salt or anything for my food it was well seasoned. I had the Salisbury Steak mac & cheese and the dressing with gravy. Had to wait on the mac & cheese but that’s okay. I slept like a baby afterwards. Customer service was very good I will definitely be going back

Very disappointed@the Lancaster TX location. After several drive-bys, watching, waiting and anticipating the opening of this soul food restaurant in our little town, I was greatly disappointed and ashamed that I had recommended this restaurant to my husband, for our Friday’s dinner. The people were kind. The moved fast, but the food was very very blend and tasteless. The mashed potatoes was instant, not homemade and NO seasoning. The broccoli/rice casserole had no cheese nor taste with very little broccoli. The partial smothered pork chops tasted as if they had just been washed off, put in a pan with water and flour to cook with no seasoning at all. The gravy had no taste as well. The desserts did not taste homemade either. I am a cook and a foodie, and I love trying out our black owned restaurants. My husband and I was very disappointed with the taste (non-taste) of the food. We spent over $45.00 at this place, only to be disappointed with the no flavor foods. I hope the cooks the taste and flavors of the food at this location. I pray they improve for the sake of our black owned restaurants.

The service was excellent! One lady behind the counter and she was on point! Chicken wings and fish are fried fresh. Macaroni and cheese actually tasted cheesy. Stop buy and get you a plate. You won’t be disappointed.

Exterior of the place is unwelcoming and derelict looking. I gave it a chance after reading some reviews but aside from the nice lady at the counter I am sorry I came.
