Went 5/18/2023 and am very disappointed. Ordered, pulled to window and paid. The time on my receipt was 7:30 pm. At 7:52 I had to get the girl at the window, who was bringing food to one of the 4 cars waiting for their orders, to get my money back. She had to ask me what my order was. I really don’t blame her because she was a teenager who appeared to be trying. My complaint is there appeared to be poor management of the restaurant. Numerous other cars got there orders and left while there was a line behind us waiting for their orders. We have had other instances of missed items in our orders, dry poor tasting chicken, barely any hush puppies with our order (3). I am done with this and will be traveling elsewhere for bbq and chicken.

This was my first time eating at Hursey’s. My husband and I went there for lunch. The people greeted us and answered questions. They were very friendly. The food was delicious. It was clearly fresh. The tea was fresh and very good, not overly sweet. We will for sure eat there again.

This newer location is disappointing. Have had several meals here and all are below expectations. Got a fried chicken and chopped bbq plate today. Chicken was over-cooked, lean and looked unappetizing, bbq was dry and tough unless drenched in sauce; fries were good and slaw had no taste. Staff at the drive-through was not super friendly; didn’t respond to request for bbq sauce verbally and gave no greeting.

This is the newest store (corner of Church & Westbrook) of this local franchise. It is my favorite. The BBQ is great. The restaurant is spacious and clean. Employees are efficient and friendly. This location also serves breakfast until 10:30 am. The lunch/dinner menu includes fried fish, burgers, hotdogs, broasted chicken, and salads as well as the BBQ. Closed on Sunday.

OMG! This is by far the best pork BBQ ever! Having moved here from Lexington a year and half ago to Burlington, I can honestly say, Hursey’s trumps any Lexington BBQ and we’ve had them all. They trump any in Greensboro, Winston Salem etc. This our go-to for pork BBQ. Speaking for me and my husband, if it’s not Hursey’s then we don’t want it. If you’ve had the best them nothing else will do. Love it! ❤️ ❤
