We went on Mar.18 2023 for dinner. I don’t know our servers name but he has been there for over 20yrs. He was fantastic, very knowledgeable of the menu. We started out with candied bacon, prime meatballs and escargot for apps. All were fantastic. My wife had the special of sea scallops and halibut and I had the steak frites. Wife said her meal was outstanding and my steak was cooked perfect med rare and was extremely tender. We ended with the carrot cake and the crème brûlée, perfect ending for an exceptional dinner.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, strong wine list and amazing food across all categories. All you can ask for in a steakhouse. The newly renovated space is open and relaxing atmosphere with an A+ view Enjoyed the shrimp and lobster bisque, banana peppers, shrimp and crab cocktail all as starters split for the table. The fresh horseradish made a delicious cocktail sauce. For dinner I had Lamb chops and my wife had a Creole snapper special. Both were excellent. The chops were cooked a perfect medium rare and had lots of flavor.

Yes, food is great and all, but the cookie cup is what really has my heart. My boyfriend heard me so much saying that I have never found this dessert in NYC or anywhere else, that in one of his trips from Buffalo he brought some with him on the plane. I can imagine he was in a rush and didn’t treat the container very well lol but I was still joyful when tasting it and my roommates at the time also enjoyed. Everything tastes so fresh, sexy, homemade. It’s like the ingredients make love in your mouth.

Atmosphere was nice, but not a fan of the experience. I ordered a medium rare steak and it was closer to well done. My wife ordered another entree and felt the food was bland, and lukewarm – as if it had been sitting and waiting to be served for some time. As someone who worked in several restaurants as a cook, I am not one to send food back because I know how stressful and hard kitchen staff works. I didn’t here, however I wish I had. The meal was extremely pricey and we did not enjoy it. Would not recommend and would not come again.

I’ve never eaten anything at the restaurant, however, when I deliver fresh vegetables from a farm I drive a truck for, more often than not, somebody puts a steak sandwich and fries on a to go container for me. Always a great perk! I eat half that night, and the remainder is breakfast the next day.

Hutch’s has been recommended to us for a while now, so we gave it a try – and definitely made sure to grab a reservation, it’s popular so you’ll need one. The ambiance inside is beautiful, and we were seated right away. It IS a bit crowded inside and there aren’t many servers per table – that said, though our server seemed overwhelmed she managed to check in often. The appetizer (oysters) was fantastic, as well as the dessert. The steak was good, but not as good as it could be for the price (~$70 for a ribeye). I’d definitely come back here for a drink, appetizers, and some seafood!

Just Me
Simply, a consistently exceptional meal as always. Hutch’s has a reserved atmosphere rather than noisy and chaotic. Monica and I enjoyed steaks, and even though Andrew Galarneau recommends against getting a steak anywhere as it could be cooked at home, I can never resist their beef. Certainly one of Buffalo’s top restaurants in a town with so many choices.

Food was good. Green beans were a touch undercooked for a $400 meal with tip. Both steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare, mashed potatoes were great on both dishes. Shrimp and lobster app was perfect. Dessert was delicious. Service was fantastic. While maybe a bit slow for some the pace was perfect for moving onto the next course. I’d say a touch over priced for the food but fortunately the service made up for it and I didn’t feel like it was a waste at the end of the night.
