I like going to Hwy 55 for a quick bite to eat. The food is good and hot and made just as I ask. I am always greeted as I walk in and also thanked as I leave. The staff is friendly and they work well together. What makes it even better is that I can use GetUpside to get a 15% discount on my food. I always love good food, good customer service, and good prices.

Since Covid this business has gone down hill. Staff complain about poor wages openly. I found bones in my cheesesteak sub was told it was an ongoing issue. Today I cut my cheesesteak in half and hair pulled from each side I made them aware of issue. Their policy is 10% off I had asked about the previous incident was told it was over 30 days that’s perfectly fine no harm in asking questions. They did remake my sub today but just for common courtesy the 10% should have been taken off for today not the previous incident. I was informed if I waited over the 30 days it wouldn’t happen again as I tried explain what happened waitress blew me off just walked away. The cashier did listen to my concerns I’m sorry she even had to deal with the situation not her fault. I did complain on Facebook even had an employee comment an accuse me of complaining all the time this is only second time in restaurant as of 2023. Use to be a great family place to eat I guess since they don’t get great wages they are ok with being rude and petty.

Who closes a restaurant at 3 o’clock on a sat? I went in at 2:56 with my 4 year old son and sat down to eat. I had no idea they closed at 3. Regardless I am a paying customer. A young lady comes over and says “sorry but we are closed. We closed at 3.” But it was 2:56. I understand they might be tired and ready to go home but it was not 3 o’clock yet and my son and I should have been served! Period. The food has not been that great the last couple times we’ve been anyway.

My class called our order in. I ordered the Carolina classic burger with everything on it, ff, and lemonade. When the food got to me it was only ketchup on the burger. Called in and both ladies I spoke to were very disrespectful. They said I could either bring the burger back or get 10% off my next order, and I was in class. 10% wouldn’t have compensated me especially the fact that they repeated the order back and messed the order up. Also when the first young lady was disrespectful the Second Lady said that they don’t give out personal information. I do not appreciate the blatant lie and disrespect that was experienced here and the fact that I was told no manager was on duty. No one had on a name tag which made it hard to know with whom I was interacting. Is this the type of customer service that you all off at this establishment?!?!

I had honestly never eaten at a HWY55 before and then when I went there I really wanted to be BLT but I’m allergic to all fish and shellfish. And they told me that they fry the bacon in the same grease that they fry all the fish related items in. So that was probably not going to be a good idea. But the waitress went and asked to cook and he was able to put it in a different thing that didn’t have the fish exposed to it yet and I was able to have my BLT and that was wonderful. It was a delicious sandwich. And their fry portions were very generous.
