For last few times I been at hwy 55 in new Bern scarlet have five years before you actually foul foul out with my cheese steak has been terrible honestly I don’t understand how y’all serve food that you wouldn’t eat yourself. Not only that when I show the manager what was wrong with my order he didn’t see anything thing wrong with but did try to fix it key word) but really seem to care much )… so now it’s supposed to be fix but he forgets to take the onions off the sub this will be my last time coming here

Went in today about 12:30 on my lunch break to place a to go order. Wasn’t too busy at all. Maybe only about 3-4 tables in there eating. Sat at the counter so I could place my order and there was one waitress right there behind the counter having a conversation with somebody sitting 2 stools down from me. She looked straight at me as I sat down and continued her conversation. Two more waitresses walk by on front of me over the next several minutes and nobody acknowledges me at all. After about 10 minutes of sitting there and having them walk by me at least 10 times one finally asks if I’ve been helped yet. When I say no she apologizes and says she thought someone had helped me. She takes my order and rings me up and gives me a discount for my wait, which really wasn’t necessary to me but I appreciate her trying to make it better. Meanwhile the other two girls just said they thought somebody had helped me, even though the one looked right at me as I sat down and stood right there in front of me talking, I don’t know who she thought would’ve helped me. Got my food and left and when I opened it up to eat I had a bacon cheeseburger with no bacon on it, and chili cheese fries that I had to eat with my hands because they didn’t give me a fork. Overall it was just highly disappointing.

I have to say I used to really enjoy this place, They used to be called Andy’s, but now they change the name to highway 55 quite a few years back now. Is the some particular reason the Burger tasted off and the Patti did not feel right while eating it. And it’s actually kind of odd for an old fifties style restaurant Not to have root beer In a fountain drink. And whenever you ask about root beer they always mention Dr Pepper as a suitable replacement.

Went in on 6/12 at approximately 645pm. Not very busy, with several staff members behind the counter. Immediately got served our drinks, and given menus by a younger guy. 25 minutes later, no one had been back to our table. Watched him seat a table and handle a couple of take out orders. Overheard the waitress apologizing to the table behind us for the extremely long wait, and offered the entire meal for free. I decided to take my kids elsewhere, since we probably wouldn’t have food for a very long time. Took my 3 drinks to the counter to pay for them. Told the staff member (same waitress from the table behind us) that I wasn’t waiting any longer. She gave us the drinks at no charge. Within 5 minutes of ordering at chick fil a, we had our food. Came back by hwy 55, 20 mins later and there were no cars at all in the parking lot. I understand staffing issues but there were plenty of people behind the counter to handle the amount of customers inside. Definitely won’t be back anytime soon

The food tasted great but I was shocked at the rude customer service that night. This cheesesteak firstly had limited meat and that was supposed to be two orders of fries. We were told it was all portion control. ??? Don’t open up if you’re worried about having enough food to get through the night.

We visit this location a couple times a month, and have had good service and food… until today. We stopped by around 2:00 and waited in line for two families to pay, so we could request menus to place a to go order. We received the menu, and took a seat at the counter. After a few minutes, I made eye contact with one of the waitresses (who was on the other side of the counter, less than two feet away) and she asked “are you ready to order?”, and I told her we were. She walked away, and I thought she was going to get a pad to take our order, or do something before taking our order. I was wrong. A few minutes later she came back and took a to go order from a man who had just walked in. This gentleman came in after us, yet she was taking his order before us. Not sure if they were friends, or what happened, but he was sitting only two chairs down from us, so she was fully aware we were still waiting to place our order. At that point, we had been in there for about 10 minutes, without being able to place an order, and decided to take our business somewhere else. I am giving them three stars based on previous visits. Hopefully this was a “one off”. I will give them another try, and hopefully get one of the other waitresses we have had in the past.
