I mean, it was clean and nice with very nice staff. And if you want to run around the store to figure out what you want to eat and then go back to that counter and wait to buy what you want, it’s cool. I really liked it much better when they had a menu. They still have to bring the food in to people anyway, I don’t understand and I don’t like having to run around the store and shop for my own menu items. I get a drink at one and an entree at the other and a salad at another and a dessert somewhere else? Nah.

I went to Happy Hour for $5.00 appetizers and boy that was a mistake! The chicken tasted old, it was in huge pieces, I found a chicken bone in it too. They probably use left over Rotisserie Chicken for it. I felt sick after eating it too and had to take some antacids. Hy-Vee Market need to use fresh food. I couldn’t finish my appetizer. It tasted horrible!

Had the Country Sampler and coffee. Everything tasted great. Only complaint wish the biscuits and gravy would have been hotter, were just warm when received and cooled of fairly quickly. Other than that it was great

I got the egg white omelette loaded with the he good stuff. I wasn’t a fan. I didn’t realize it was an egg white omelette. I like the whole egg not just the whites. If you enjoy egg white only omelettes you would love it.

I stopped in here for lunch on a Monday afternoon and ordered the blueberry and bacon (Gouda) cheese burger. The burger was perfectly cooked and the flavor combination was magnificent. The dining area is very nice. However, I didn’t like the fact that you have to place your order in the store. There were a lot of people that came in right behind me and I felt rushed to order and unable to fully read the menu. You then have to go in, find a seat and get your own drink. Still, that burger is worth coming back for.

We used to visit this place every time we’d come to town. ( 6 times a year) This last time was a disaster. We were told to prefer and pay at the express food bar, which was fine but, when numerous people walk past you and don’t acknowledge you, it’s a bit frustrating. We asked for help at the deli, and a young man was VERY rude, sarcasticly rude, and condensending. Waitress apologized over and over, not her fault. She was awesome. Did was not nearly as good as it was in the past.

Good food at affordable prices, great Friday live music night (especially when it’s out on the patio) overall a relaxing way to spend a Friday evening. My only criticisms are the following: 1) service can be spotty sometimes. There have been times when I sit at a table and don’t get served until I flag down a waiter, and 2) Often some of the upper-level HyVee employees use this place as an after work bar, and they can get obnoxious sometimes. One time one of them (a chubby-ish guy with short brown hair and black-rimmed glasses) knocked over my camera, saw that he did it, and just left it there. He knew it was my camera and I was recording the music. But, like a douche, he treated it like it was nothing. So that was an unpleasant experience that to this day upsets me.

Barely open after the pandemic. But very good to see old friends at a good social distance. Currently no sitting at the bar, plastic cups and plastic dinnerware, very segmented duties for the staff, you must purchase food. Staff wears masks and changes disposable plastic gloves with nearly every new duty. Certainly not enough space if everyone returns for a visit all at once. Staff, 5 stars. Drinks 5 stars. Atmosphere affected by pandemic fears and state ‘reopening’ mandates reduces the enjoyment. Be safe.
