First time visit — I was pleasantly surprised to find an extensive Mediterranean menu in addition to African and Caribbean. My lamb shawarma salad wasn’t memorable – I can’t recommend it – but the gyro salad was much better. The hummus also wasn’t exceptional, other than having a peanut butter flavor which was odd. The fried bread, on the other hand, was delicious. Overall, a bit of a disappointment.

Everything was really good! The woman asked if we had been there before and we said we hadn’t so she helped us figure out what to order and was so nice! She asked if we had any food allergies. She brought the food out for us and brought us this really delicious hot sauce that complimented the food perfectly! Pricey but worth it- I’ll definitely come back.

The Asun meal with lamb and plantains was great! I ordered it spicy, and would probably go to their hottest level next time as it was still pretty mild. The Mediterranean salad was nothing to write home about. Would probably pick up instead of dine in next time around. A lot of the menu looked and smelled worthwhile. Thanks Fufu!

Amazing food! Ordered the beef shawarma with sides of humus and salad. Tasted amazing and the prices were amazing for the quality of the food and the portion sizes. Ended up taking home leftovers even though we ordered one meal with sides for each individual.

This food is fabulous. I was so excited when I found out that Iowa City had Ghanian food. I went with friends and shared a few plates; we had the Egusi with lamb, the yuka, the basmati rice dish with beef and the curry chicken with rice and peas. All of it was excellent. The tunes were also slappin. I highly recommend this gem.

Had a close friend telling me about it and how much they loved eating there so I finally stopped by when I was in town visiting.. worth it! Really good food and portions are big and fast service and they check up on you. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Amazing place!! The restaraunt is currently undergoing renovations but don’t get caught up on those, you can still dine inside or out. The owner was extremely nice and explained everything on the menu we had questions about. I ordered the Asun (with lamb) and oh my goodness! It was very flavorful and had the right amount of spice (you get to pick your spice level as well)! It’s official, I Love Fufu is a 10 out of 10 for me. Highly recommend and definitely will be back on my next business trip!
