Overpriced, inauthentic JaPaNEsE restaurant that has absolutely no reason to be here for such a long time. Not that I discriminate against the owner, I am a minority myself, but at least you shouldn’t have the guts to charge $15 for a beef rice bowl that your cooks made using some measly frozen and fatty beef, and even have every grain of rice soaked in a sugary, salty juice.

I’ve been going to Ichiban for over 28 years! It was the only sushi restaurant in the area at the time. All the food is fresh and the staff is fabulous who know us by name and treat us like family.

The sushi here is terrific and reasonably priced. I’m surprised that the restaurant has a four star review overall instead of five. The only drawback I can think of is the location itself, as it is tucked into a very average shopping plaza. Inside, the atmosphere is peaceful and low key.

A small sushi joint that captures your eye visually, and your taste buds with it’s yummy dishes. I really liked the miso soup, and the salad looked pretty, the ingredients were fresh, just wasn’t really a fan of how much chunky ginger was in the dressing. Usually it’s a bit smoother and not so pungent. The sushi was plated very nicely, an array of colors and textures. The staff was very sweet, and helpful throughout our dinner. I really liked the feel of it, as it was super quiet and very few customers. I enjoyed our meal a lot. Even on a Saturday it wasn’t busy at all.

Went with a group of four, and we all thought the food was excellent. I got the vegetable tempura roll and the hijiki roll. The latter was my preferred of the two for it’s fresh, sweet, and umami flavor. The service was polite, and the food was prepared quickly (fortunately there were few people dining in at the time). The fried rice was also very good albeit a bit too salty for my taste; I’m not sure what kind of rice they use, but it has a nice, chewy texture. The ginger-garlic (?) sauce they put on the salad is excellent, too.

Good place to get fresh sushi. Their menus offer pictures, so it makes it a tone easier to select. Saki is at a good price. The atmosphere can use some work but nothing bad. Maybe improve the music selection or add more art? Anyhow, imo, it’s definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in the University area 🙂

Haven’t been to this one in a year and half. The food is still good and on point, but there are just less people there. And they also add a whole page menu for vegetarian which is a plus, not seen anywhere else do that.
