Great food, fresh sushi, and the appetizers are incredible! They currently have Korean corn dogs and dango and my goodness i was impressed by both! The corn dog is so crispy, cheesy, and delicately sweet, such a unique balance of flavor and the dango absolutely appeased the nerdy anime dork in me lol

This place is a gem. The soups was so flavorful and authentic. The dishes are not spicy so don’t be scared. The portions are huge that people can share the entrees. The spicy squid stir-fry was so good. The location has a good amount of tables so it can definitely accommodate big parties. They also have seating outside.

The tempura is fantastic. The teriyaki chicken sauce is salty not sweet. The fried rice has a sweet taste on the steak. We told the waitress we didn’t like it, that’s why we didn’t eat it. She said sorry but didn’t offer any discount. We paid $50 and all we ate was white rice and the tempura appetizer (4 shrimp, one piece of zucchini, sweet potato, carrot, and some white vegetable we couldn’t identify.

We have eaten here many times. I only get sashimi. Today the cuts were poor, not against grain, irregular thickness, wedges, triangles, skinny points and lots of silver skin. Their response when I brought this up was “sorry it’s not to your liking, but is it inedible?” Won’t come back after this poor quality and poorly prepared sashimi. We just enjoyed a fabulous Japanese meal for my partner’s birthday! We rode our bikes through the Bosque and popped out at Alameda, right at Ichiban! We ordered the Sushi Lunch (one California roll plus 7 assorted nigiri (chef’s choice)) and a Build a Bowl (with teriyaki salmon, egg rolls, and a side salad with a deliciously bright citrus vinaigrette). Both meals were affordable and filling. Our server, Daniel, and his busser were super-friendly, fast, and adept. Also, they were so sweet to bring us a ridiculous amount of water and ice, as we (and our bikes) chose to sit on their lovely shaded patio even though it was about 100 degrees outside. Thanks Daniel and Ichiban staff for giving us a fun and delicious birthday experience! (posted review July 2022, edited to add stars March 2023)

I would have given this place four stars considering the food is decent, however, the waitress is cut throat. The table next to us asked if three rolls would be sufficient for two people. She said yes with a smile. Well, I walked past this server by the computer and heard her say, “ it’s not enough, you be hungry in an hour.” And laughed.

I was a usual here, but I recently received some of the worst service I have had in years. The staff at the takeout desk forgot my order and said, “Oops, we can’t find her order” and we’re laughing about it to each other. After fourty five minutes, they finally asked me to repeat my order, and after ten more minutes, they came back with the wrong stuff and forgot my soda, then proceeded to briefly argue that I ordered nigiri not sashimi and I had to show them the receipt to prove it. When I finally got the sushi, they gave me nigiri anyway. They never apologized for making me wait almost an hour, and since they were so rude, I don’t plan on coming back, even though the sushi itself was good. If this situation gets rectified, I will update the review.
