Disappointed the salad and soup is not included in the price like every other Japanese steakhouse. I would rather it be hidden in the price if that is the case, because you just come to expect it when you visit these types of restaurants. It is the equivalent of being charged for your chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant, not a a big deal, but big enough to keep me from returning.

I will never go to the other place again. My grown son complained that we always go there and he didn’t want to try Ichiban. So I threw the mom card and came here. Needless to say, it was a good call. The man cooking at our table was fantastic and the food was season to perfection. What a show he did! Plus our sushi was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful time. Plus the prices were worth it as well!

We went to the hibachi side for dinner, and it was overall pretty good. For my tastes it was a little too much of the teriyaki sauce and soy sauce but others enjoyed that. Very typical experience otherwise. The hibachi chef was entertaining, but he was stretched thin as he was the only chef in that night so he had to hurry to the next table. We also ordered sushi, and that is pictured here – the hibachi was not pictured as it was mostly the same darker brown color.

Really disappointed. The last time I ordered sushi it tasted off and sour, but I figured it may have just been a me problem or a one time thing. Revisited today and it was worse. I took one bite of the sushi and couldn’t eat anymore. I’ve been enjoying sushi for many years and it’s never tasted like that. I let staff know and I was given a “discount” totaling to $1.50. I used to really like this place but I unfortunately will not be back.

There are two Japanese steak houses in Florence Alabama and the two are literally within a football field distance of each other. Ichiban is the newest to the area of the two between UMI and ichiban but there are some stark differences.
