Almost hidden at the far end of the food court at the Stamford mall, it doesn’t catch your eye immediately but to us regulars it’s the definition of Japanese takeout/fast food. The food is good, not heavy or too greasy despite the oil they squirt unto the meat during the grilling process. Still their teriyaki chicken is soft and succulent. Their seasoning and salt are minimal but along with the always fresh veggies the result is healthy and satisfying food even if a little bland. The counter service staff is polite and attentive to your requests but as for atmosphere I’m not sure what to say. There is none. This is the mall after all. They are very fast at getting your meal ready but don’t expect them to smile and make small chat. Fast good food. That is the point!

I have loved having teriaki at the top of Stamford Mall for over 10 years. Maybe because Ichiban is so good. It might be odd for CT, but back in L.A. a great chicken teriyaki lunch is king. There used to be other good food at the mall food court but now its mostly junk food, except for Ichiban.

I have been eating here for years. Small Menu but very good and cheap. Great service. Good size portions. I recommend the Chicken Teriyaki with White Rice. Eating area is relatively nice and Tables are cleaned regularly.

Bad place to be. Be careful, they mix already cooked food with fresh one. I saw the cook taking cooked shrimp from a tray hidden under the cooking platform and mix. The result, I got pieces of over cooked shrimp that were hard to chew. Very small portion for such price. Do not recommend this place

Good for a quick stop if your hungry and want some Oriental food. That’s chicken and shrimp teriyaki is delicious. Just tell them to put the sauce on the side so that it won’t dry out if your bringing your food home.

My ten yr old eats the orange chicken everytime we come it’s his favorite. I love the Bourbon if we didn’t sit at the indoor playground I wouldn’t make a special trip but it’s not the worst.
