What a great place for dinner. My partner and I had our first date here and it’s our go to for Italian. Always have fantastic tasty special’s and a bottle of wine is a great pairing. The charming atmosphere will transport you to A small Italian village in the north of Italy (if you have been) the staff is warm and welcoming, and service could use a bit of work. Other than that is a great local spot!

Really good food and friendly staff. Start off with the prosciutto wrapped around pear and macarpone, it is savory and sweet and delicious. Their gnocchi was soft as clouds and the ragu is mouth-watering. My wife had branzino with orange (excellent) and I had the lamb shoulder chop. The chop was very tender and the zucchini and veggies that come with it were worthy of their own dish. Dessert was very good as well. Tiramisu that was heavy on espresso without being overpowering and a very flaky mille foglie. Overall, a lovely dinner. Only complaint was that I wish the steak knives were a little better, it was harder to cut through the lamb than it should have been. Will definitely come back!

My wife and I snuck in here on a less-busy Saturday night without reservations. We wanted a solid North Beach Italian dining experience, and Idealé delivered. The interior and atmosphere is unpretentious, welcoming. Our server was friendly and gave us time to sit and enjoy our meal. The food itself makes Idealé worth visiting. Authentic Italian, It was fantastic. We had a mouthwatering bruschetta for a starter, along with two glasses of relatively inexpensive but solid Italian red wine. We then shared the Bucatini and Spaghetti Maurizio. Homemade noodles! The sauces and presentation were humble, but offered excellent flavor. So good. Regular sized portions rather than super sized, which we appreciated. Will be returning to Idealé next time we’re in SF.

Fabulous small, authentic Italian restaurant in North Beach. Cramped, crowded, people yelling in Italian, but that’s part of its charm. Amazing food. Best bolognese sauce I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Highly recommended.

The rice with mussel have me craving for me…so creamy and juicy tasting. Under the rice will have shrimp, and squid..soon good!!! Spaghetti was a little hard, but that’s okay. We had great customer service!

I was recommended this spot by an Italian friend as the most authentic Italian restaurant in the North Beach area. I have to say that’s true. Lively and nice Italian service and mainly delicious food, esp. the home made pasta. The veal tortolloni are just a dream! The restaurant also offers fresh specials every day and we had pretty awesome wild boar pasta here too.
