Nice environment. Was able to sit on the barge under cover during a mild rain storm and was able to be dry. Table and Bar service was good along with the other wait staff. By far the best service and attentiveness of any of our restaurants we visited while in South Haven. Even spotted a manager of some sort facilitating the staff which was out side the norm from our other experiences here.

Disappointed. Stopped here for lunch while on the Harbor walk- a touristy stop that we thought would be perfect for a warm sunny day, especially being right on the river… But it wasn’t perfect AT ALL. Waited well over 1.5 hr (while watching others being served who came in after us) for our food while being given bizarre excuses by our waitress that the computer didn’t work and therefore the cooks didn’t get our order. After 1 hr, ‘wait, your food will be ready in 3 min’- and then another half hour later- she brings our food and says that she’s sorry our food was a ‘couple minutes late but hey, it’s fresh cuz I stood by the cook while it was being prepared.’ …WUT?

Great view. I had the fried tomato BLThamburger it was great. Coconut shrimp with the orange marmalade for too. It has under a 4 star review, so I typically wouldn’t go to this restaurant, but my wife wanted to go and I am glad we did as it was very good to me.

I am a South Haven veteran that has lived here for almost 10 years and has come to this restaurant every weekend throughout the summer time in the last couple years it has gotten worse and worse when it comes to their quality and taking care of the restaurant in the establishment. I literally sat down at my table, ordered my appetizers and waited almost an hour plus for my appetizers, and by the time they finally came shortly after that, my food was coming to my table. Went down to use the facilities before I left, and they were absolutely disgusting.

We all had a good time on the Idler! The pita and dip were tasty and so was the brisket sandwich. Someone in my group ordered at a margarita and they thought it tasted too sweet, but I thought it tasted fine. Great Jimmy Buffet type music on the speakers too, which was nice!

Despite the rain I was able to find a dry table on the deck with a great view of the river. The servers are friendly and attentive. The spinach and artichoke dip was very tasty as we enjoyed our South Haven Ice Tea. Highly recommended but get there early to get a good seat on the deck.

Food was decent. I ordered the Maui wowie sandwich. It was good. Chicken was seasoned well with good flavor. My husband ordered a bacon burger but it didn’t come with bacon. He said it was average. Service was extremely slow for what seemed like a less than busy mid afternoon lunch. Waiter was very polite and apologetic about the wait. Love the atmosphere though. Enjoy watching the water and the boats coming in and out. Would definitely come back for drinks on the water.

After waiting to be seated for about 15 minutes, while barely being spoken to by the server, after two tables were cleaned finally, one on the river side, and one facing the dock, the couple behind us was offered the Riverside seating, although we were first in line.we weren’t even offered a choice being next in line to be seated with the two options open. I got the feeling they didn’t want to serve a mixed race couple, especially since the other couple was immediately given menus and being serviced, while we sat there with a wet table in front of us. We left and will not be returning. Won’t give them a dime of our money. Definitely don’t recommend visiting this restaurant unless you’re Caucasian ♀️
