We have a great server Brianna greeted us with a smile and provided us with fantastic service! She was very knowledgeable about each item on the menu! We will definitely be coming back!

Worst experience I’ve had in a while! We ordered the steam buns and benson bombs as our apps. The benson bombs came out first and the chicharrons were cold and soggy. I brought this up with our waitress and she told us that they are supposed to be that way. Then she took it to the “chef” and came back and said that it he said they are supposed to be that way.

I am a huge fan of the location in Old market and was so excited when I saw there was one close to me. But it couldn’t have been more different than the old market one…

It is disappointing to say to least to have your favorite restaurant in Omaha treat your family so ignorantly for dinner. I love the downtown location, and the Village Pointe Ika was is more convenient at times to get food at. I’ve enjoyed it for years. However, when you bring in your wife’s parents, most notably your mother in law, to just enjoy a meal as a family with great food, you expect the service to go right along with that expectation. However, when not even a waiter, a manager, comes over and complains about having to throw out all bowls and utensils your mother-in-law threw up in, (mind you it was only one bowl), and shakes her head walking away instead of asking about the situation politely, it is beyond frustrating and disappointing to drive your mother-in-law home crying because she cannot enjoy a meal with her family. My mother-in-law has four autoimmune illnesses, and has a strict diet to begin with, although she can do the best she can to follow the foods she can or cannot eat, sometimes the food does not agree with her. Although it is not pleasant, sometimes the food comes back up. I can totally understand the frustration for a wait staff when someone drunk and belligerent causes a scene. However, no wait staff came up and check on the situation. They just stared in a corner of the bar. We paid before leaving left a nice tip, because we understand it is out of the ordinary and not the easiest task to deal with once we leave. Overall, we all understand that it is difficult situation. It is different when you make someone already struggling feel 10x worse when we are just trying to enjoy a dinner together. Sometimes things happen. Despite that, the treatment that she received was unacceptable, rude, and ignorant. We will not be returning to this location again.

I ordered one bowl of ramen for pick up at the village pointe location for 7:30pm, but I ended up getting there a little late because of work. So at 8pm I eventually got there to pick it up, but when I tried to open the door it was locked, mind you all of the staff was still in there and there was a couple dining in and the place doesn’t close until 10pm. The wait staff was staring at me as I was trying to open the door and just continued to obviously talk about me. I waited at the door for a couple of moments thinking they would open the door for me, but that never happened. Eventually I called the place to let them know I was standing out there and I needed to get my pick up order that I paid money for. It is extremely rude and inappropriate to completely ignore someone that is obviously trying to get in and make it known that you are having a conversation about said person. I will never be coming back to this location.

Since moving to midwest and learning ramen is a big thing here, ika has always been a solid go-to place to get ramen. While i whole heartedly prefer the benson location, this one def tries to keep the same quality. The wait staff is the only real difference and even then it depends on the day. Ive been here where everything (food and staff) were great and other days where staff was just par at best. This particular time the waiter (may have been new so not going to be overly harsh) was so soft spoken and seemed real unsure of himself, not checking upnfor drink orders/refills etc.. made this trip less then enjoyable.

The food would be amazing IF…. THEY WOULD THROW AWAY THEIR CAYENNE PEPPER SHAKERS! Couldn’t even taste the dish because it was so spicy that after the 2nd bite I had burned my taste buds beyond belief. If you want food that spicy, just steam the peppers directly and eat them plain. It would be the same. The dish I ordered wasn’t even supposed to be spicy yet I couldn’t taste the food. Such a loss. $100 for what tasted like steamed Cayenne pepper. 1st and last visit. Too many GOOD places to eat to have to put up with such incompetent cooks.

Love this location of Ika San the most! Somehow, the pork broth tastes better here, and the space is clean and spacious.
