Decided to drop the hubby off at Ike’s due to me wanting to venture out in Abilene, Kansas. My hubby enjoyed meeting the locals and Stephanie the bartender took real good care of her clientele. Also ordered from their menu and enjoyed my shrimp tacos. And Bonnie with icecream.

Wonderful place to stop with good food at great value. I had the country fried steak, it was large and not like at a chain restaurant it was a steak with good amount of gravy. The fish and Chips was good cooked differently as it wasn’t crispy outside but the fish was tender and flavorful. Service was a little slow but over all will be back again.

Holy smokes this place is awesome. My wife and I ate there this last Sunday and we shared a full slab of ribs. $26.99 complete with two sides and soup/salad. Drink prices are reasonable and the service was quick and courteous. Oh yeah, those ribs – they were amongst some of the best I have ever eaten and I’ve had BBQ all over this country. Choice of sweet or spicy and we opted for the spicy sauce. Incredible. I would have snapped a photo of them but I was too busy enjoying them.

We arrived at 9pm. It took about 15 minutes to have someone take our drink order and another 20 before we ordered our meal. So it is very slow service. That being said, the food was delicious. The menu has a good variety from nachos to rib eye or salmon, and there are nice dinner options as well as the regular “pub food” fare. The historical information and photos of Eisenhower and his family is interesting. We would eat here again, but I’m not sure how long you would wait for service at 5:30 or 6pm.

First time patrons. We were not impressed with what you get for the price. My wife liked her burger but I didn’t like mine. Friends’ steaks weren’t cooked as ordered. 4 measly shrimp to a steak and shrimp order. That’s a rip. Kitchen apparently doesn’t communicate to wait staff that things are ready for pick up from the kitchen. I’m willing to give it another shot. So, I will order something else and see.

The endless chips are intentionally misleading- if you ask for more after the first basket they bring you a tiny basket and no more dip. The service was slow, but the food was good (although less than expected for the price). What a silly thing to lose customers over. Ten dollars for “endless chips” and then they don’t give you any more after the initial.

DONT ORDER THE “ENDLESS” chips & salsa. It’s $10 for what says “endless chips and two choices of dip”. We ordered them and then when we asked for more chips they said you only get chips and the salsa or queso is not included. When we said we wouldn’t have ordered them knowing that they said that we should have known because it said endless chips and didn’t include the word endless before the salsa, etc. What a cheap thing to screw people over on. I would never come back. Ike may have been a great president but this establishment is poorly managed. The food is also very mediocre…but the most important thing is that they are sneaky and don’t care about customer satisfaction.

Visiting Abilene from out of state and was looking for local fare. Read the reviews and decided to dine at Ike’s. I had the “open faced prime rib” on bread with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, steamed vegetables and tossed salad. The food proportions were latge and it was deliciious. There were framed pictures all around of Dwight D Eisenhower’s presidency. I would recommend this place.

An old time feel with a very awesome menu!!! The street tacos are amazing! Actually I was shocked to get such delicious tacos in Kansas! Our server Nick was great! Everyone was welcoming and the place is clean with pics of Ike Eisenhower everywhere. Cool place.
