They don’t always seat outdoors but when they do, it’s beautiful. A deck surrounded by bright colored flowers. They have an excellent vegan minestrone soup (better than other Il Fornaio locations which I have seen omit beans) and another vegan avocado salad/grain item on the menu also! Grateful to have this in Carmel.

It was a bad experience, first we came with the hostess and she tolds us she didn’t have any table available, when there was many available, ok I have to say that we first went to the Acquarium, and we were tired, but not that bad to be rejected, so as I thought, I made a reservation here by opentable, and guess what? Yes there was space available, so we went again and obviously they put us at the back. Then the waiter didn’t offer us bread, so we asked, an then imediately told us, but the cost is 2 dollars, really it’s a shame the treatment we received, the food was good, but really the personal are very elitist it’s a shame that in these days, people treat you bad, is the first time somebody treat us like that!

Food was delicious, it was a little slow but that’s not surprising they seemed understaffed for a weekend. Our waitress was super patient and explained the menu items well! We ordered the Burrata Con Prosciutto, the Ossobuco Di Maiale (pork shank), and the Cannelloni pasta, all were delicious! They have a 3% surcharge on current prices as well.

We had an afternoon reservation when it was not busy – we were initially the only group in the entire restaurant. From the hostess who seated us to the waiter who took our order, the servers were extremely rude. They didn’t refill our waters or check in on us once the entire meal. I would not recommend this spot for that reason alone.

So funny story, there is two il fornaio’s in Carmel and I had made reservations for this place but accidentally went to their second location. The experience was super lovely! My boyfriend and I were celebrating our one year and the waiter actually gave us celebratory champagne which was suuuuper yummy. I had gotten the delicious fish special and my boyfriend got the three meat pasta which he really enjoyed. If that place was good I can not wait to try this correct location

We dropped in for happy hour. No one was at the door to greet or seat us or tell us what area to sit in. When we seated ourselves in the bar area. We were told that we were not at a happy hour table and needed to move to the happy hour section. There were no open tables there and the bar was full! There were a few waiters around but none wanted to bring us a menu. Finally one waiter got a sullen busgirl to bring us menus. She brought us dinner menus. Finally someone brought us happy hour menus, but by then we were fed up and left.

This place is very lovely! The entry way into the pine inn was beautiful! Their happy hour menu was delicious. Had their stuffed squash blossoms and one of their pizzas and it was so good I still day dream about it. Can’t wait to go back for dinner. Service was excellent!

We made reservations ahead of time for this place and had high hopes. But the service was awful. Our waiter was rude and grumpy. He was short with us and never came to check up on us after we ordered. The food was mediocre. The drinks from the bar were subpar. We won’t be coming back.

Beautiful restaurant with lovely ambiance and great service .Dogs are welcome on the rooftop and there is a handicap accessible entrance. We sat on the rooftop which was gorgeous. Flowers all around and plenty of heaters if you get cold. Our server Ramon was fantastic and very attentive. He definitely added to our good experience by suggesting meals and wines to compliment. I love all the seating options for if you want a more casual dinner or something fancier.
