I’m Italian from NJ and could never find an authentic Italian spot in Los ANGELES (for 5 years) until I found Il Saggio. The price is RIGHT and the portions are PERFECT. Their bread is phenomenal with the olive oil & balsamic. The owner Junior is an absolute delight. I’ve even held a large 30-person dinner at the Commerce location and every doctor in attendance RAVED about this spot. Family owned & operated. Food is unreal. I can’t wait to bring my Italian family here when they come to visit.

Passed by when it was sushi, passed by when it was desserts and now Italian the best cuisine ever! Went for the first time today after passing for weeks until they opened up. All I have to say that it was so delicious and the portion and prices were amazing ! So sad to see that it was empty but so glad when we sat down the owner and the waitress looked happy because more and more people came to dine in! If you’re in echo park/ silverlake I highly recommend it. The shrimp scampi was to die for and Don’t even get me started on their complimentary bread and freshly made calamari! Can’t wait to dine here for as long as I can!! Support small businesses!!

This restaurant just opened in Echo Park right across the street from Lassens (not sure why the address is incorrect). This inconspicuous and family-owned restaurant might seem humble from the outside, but dang is the food good! The menu is a simple Italian menu with staple dishes like pasta bolognese . Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a home cooked quality meal packing lots of flavor and love. Will be back again!
