il Solito pays homage to the red-sauce palaces that simmered their way into popular culture in the US fifty years ago but simultaneously winks at midcentury Continental cuisine and explores the ways the two genres overlapped. il Solito mines the best elements of homegrown American style of service and cuisine that flourished when folks woozy from a final shot of limoncello wobbled to the sidewalk clutching doggy bags.

Italian restaurant associated with the hotel. The menu is relatively small, but the chef does well with classic Italian fare. The fish was seared perfectly, and all of the dishes were flavorful. The cocktails were well made, and the service was excellent and well paced.

Nice place, we all had a good time. Service was good, pleasant atmosphere, nice murmur in the background. The negroni (had two) was yummy. Try the focaccia, so good, the hit of the table. I could eat a bunch of that with a ceasar salad and a glass of wine or whatever. I had lasagna, it was disappointing. All noodles, small sparse meat layer, little bit of home made ricotta, bechamel sauce on top, and an average tomato sauce on the bottom. The main drawback was that it was burned on the bottom and tasted burned (see photo) so I only ate the top of the slice, it was ok, but for $28.00 a la carte, I would not order lasagna there again. Everyone else liked their food. I would give 3.5 stars. Maybe next time I’ll order spaghetti and meatballs, it looked good.

I waited for them to open because I have been past this place but never inside. I was first in for their dinner service. The waiter was very kind and patient. The food really was delicious. And the Focaccia was perfect and oh so good.

Great food and drinks in the bar! The service was wonderful, prompt, friendly. We went for Drag Dinner (3rd Thursdays) and it was just fantastic. We’ll be back!

Very ok overall. Servers and host were friendly and informative; appetizers were awesome but entrees were somewhat disappointing. Both of our pasta dishes came out lukewarm in what I thought were pretty small portions (scampi especially), and the food took a pretty long time to come out despite us being one of two or three parties in the restaurant. That being said, everything tasted good and I’d be open to coming here again.

The food is good, some of it great. The steak special was a stack of perfectly cooked medium rare slices. There was an extensive wine list. But the best thing about the place was Devon, our server. He recommended items to us and had a great sense of humor. Yes the food was good but we will be back again because of the way we were treated. See you again Devon.

We had a large party while dining here and each of us received top notch personal service. Our waitor was fantastic! We enjoyed every delectable bite. My scallops were cooked to absolute perfection. They have an excellent wine list to choose from as well. All in all, a delightful evening of fine dining at its best.

We did enjoy our evening here for the decor and friendly staff but the food was miserably small portions and very expensive. I had pork belly which was more entree size with one cube (1 inch by half an inch) of pure fat and one cube of actual pork belly, sitting in a bland pasta with cream. Bean and kale soup was tasteless. No gluten free options apart from the soup. Meatballs were filling.

Stayed at the Kimpton and ate here with a friend. We really enjoyed our meal. The focaccia was delicious and the pork belly pasta was to die for. I regretted that we split it. Dessert was also good, but the pasta was the highlight. Our server was friendly and patient with us as we were catching up after not having seen each other in a while.

A restaurant that has changed names but not owners or quality of food. The menu reads Italian with a modern and innovative spin on dishes. This is a place to come to share dishes as it is hard to choose. Located on Broadway Downtown and easily accessible by all modes of transportation.
