We ordered the mojito, Lomo saltado, Tacu tacu con lomo, and Ceviche de pescado. Everything was delicious! Will definitely return.

Best restaurant near UVA hands down, maybe even Charlottesville. This most recent visit was top 5 meals of my life! Anyone who hasn’t gone here yet is missing out!

Inka wants to defy description. Perhaps it’s my ignorance of the Peruvian culinary idiom, but the menu seemed to be all over the place and every strange, bebop-like construction was more interesting and delicious than the last. It was all so surprising. The menu is large and intimidating, divided into multiple (large) sections. Some are explicable (apps, soups), some are more opaque (traditional, international… CHAUFAS?). Don’t sweat it, pick something with a favorite ingredient, pick something at random- you’ll be happy. We ordered something off of every menu category except for international which is mostly pasta. First we had little eggroll shaped potato cakes covered in a sauce I would drink as a warm beverage. Simple, delightful, perfection, they were light, crispy and hardy all at the same time. We had a traditional dish of stewed beef as well as a fish ceviche. The beef was comfort food that took me back to the best Sunday roasts of my Kentucky holler childhood, and the ceviche, a dish I am not a fan of, was nutty, acidic and so fresh and vibrant that I found myself ganking the last piece in a fit of selfish pique. The Peruvian paella was dense rice with perfectly cooked shrimp and mussels and so many flavors that each bite felt like a different dish. It was also very filling, as paella is want to do, and I can say it’s the best version of this dish I’ve had in town. Finally, the Chaufas. How does a Peruvian restaurant have the best fried rice in town? The Googles say that the large Chinese expat population in Peru has made fried rice a staple there. As far as I’m concerned Inka wins the award for best Chinese food in Cville. My takeaway is that Inka is best described as comfort food. Filling, interesting and an excellent value. I’ve ordered take-out twice since my first dine-in experience and usually get two meals and a snack from one order of the Chaufas. But you should try in-house first. The 5th street location is chill and clean and the service is spot on. Try it, but bring an appetite.

The food was very good! The waitstaff was a bit inattentive at times after our food had been brought out.

Stopped by Inka for some lunch the other day and it was fantastic as usual! I usually bounce around from dish to dish, having tried the seafood paella and some others at different points (all of them, tasty), so this time around I went for the frijol con seco. AMAZING! The beef was so so tender and the rice, cooked to perfection. Probably one of the best restaurants on the Corner — definitely one to check out.

Stopped by for lunch before touring the UVA campus. Expansive menu of Peruvian classics – more than just rotisserie chicken. The beef dishes were fantastic. My wife’s quarter chicken came out overdone and it was swiftly remedied without issue – and was delicious. Tacu tacu is great. Very good place to eat in The Corner.

Great food! Make sure to ask for picante (spicy) sauce and sal (salt) to add more bold flavor to your liking. My wife and I love the grilled octopus and shrimp and calamary appetizers to start every time. The traditional meat and rice plates are wonderful and comforting, as well as the ceviche. We tried the linguini verde con bistec today and again, needed a bit of salt but it was very good. Friendly service but make sure to use google translate with some of the servers. Also, military discount applied! 10%. Gave it back as tip!

Stunning presentation and divine flavors. Fresh, delicious, and a must for the epicurious! So grateful my friend recommended this new spot at the Yard at 5th Street Station! My fiancé and I celebrated our engagement dinner here a few weeks ago. With ample indoor and outdoor seating, the seating is spacious for all. We started with the yucca and ceviche. I am FLOORED by Peruvian ceviche and this style of preparation is the only way I will have ceviche now. My fiancé had a fantastic dish plated with a nod to old world heritage and I had the tacu tacu with seafood. The tacu tacu is a delightful combination of bean and rice baked together into a half moon shaped cake. Get in here now and support this phenomenal local small business! We’re already coming back and bringing family to share in this culinary experience
