Our server Max was outstanding, super friendly, and a great smile! Our food was all made perfect and delicious. My favorite place to have dinner in Ely, a true gem in the city!

Lunch was wonderful and Alex our waitstaff was super nice. Started with a bloody and baked goat cheese. Then on to the disputed island burger and handcut fries. In my opinion, the food, prices and service are right on target. Modern, clean and plenty of tables. We all enjoyed it and would/will stop again.

We had dinner at Insula the last night we were in Ely – big mistake! We should have went there day 1 so that we could have gone again and tried more of their menu! Hands down best food in town. Great environment, friendly staff, amazing food. Get the wonton tacos, you won’t regret it!

Every dish was perfect. Nashville hot was cooked the traditional way bone in with the drizzle of the spice with oil. Soup was one of the best I’ve had. Can’t wait to go back.

Stopped here with the family. Wife ordered the Cesar, and I ordered the Cobb. Food was fresh and tasted great. Kids meals are typical for restaurants, but the fries were hand-cut I believe and they were delicious. Good place to stop when in Ely.

The best sweet potato fries we’ve ever had. The food in general is excellent. It is such a popular place that if you go in the evening, you need to be prepared to wait. We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 5:30 PM and were told that it would be about an hour’s wait. They took our phone number and called us when two seats at the bar opened up. (We had requested a table, but by then, we weren’t going to point that out.) We did not get our order in right away, partly because our server was a bartender and both of them were very busy. It took another hour before our food arrived. The restaurant closed at 8 PM but it was still full of patrons. And this was a Wednesday.

I called at 7pm and asked what the latest time I had to get to the restaurant before closing as we were just getting into town. Was told that as long as orders are in before 8pm. We got there by 7.50pm and got turned away. The server didn’t even want to look at me in the eyes when he said that they were closed already. I know this is a small town and this is a number 1 restaurant in town. This is tourist season for sure, so would have assumed management would staff adequately. Anyways, it is what it is.

My husband and I came on a busy Saturday night, there was about a 20 minute wait. It was quicker than anticipated and it was well worth the wait. The food was delicious, much better than I thought from a small town restaurant. A must try is the baked goat cheese appetizer! Their burgers were also delicious, even the vegetarian sweet patato burger! Definitely a cannot miss while traveling through Ely!

Honestly I love this place. But they changed up their food menu for the summer and took off a couple items I absolutely loved. Their only saving grace and why they got two stars is because they kept the pork wonton tacos on and I know their food is good. But I was just in trying to be seated at 6:30!! and I was told we wouldn’t be able to be served before their last call. Their hours state that they are open u til 8 pm but unfortunately their won’t take anymore food orders past 7:45. I have never been to a restaurant that does last call for food before they close. Any other place I’ve been or worked closes it’s kitchen upon the close of business hours. Only alcohol was ever a last call. I absolutely cannot believe we were turned away over a full hour before they closed. If you wanna eat here I guess you have to go early as it seems no one wants to work until their actual close.
