My wife and I had lunch at Isla Restaurant in Newark, CA. It was a very enjoyable experience. My wife has been there before but it was my first time. Immediately what impressed me most was the size of the menu (as thick as a book) with an abundance of food selections. We ordered Pinakbet, Short-Rib Adobo, Sisig, and Adobo rice. The food was nothing to write home about but what made up for the mediocre food was the Customer Service. They all deserve a raise because their were welcoming, kind, and professional especially our server Nadine.

We really enjoyed our time trying out Filipino food for the first time! The staff was so kind and helpful with picking out the perfect dish for us to order. We loved the grilled liempo, pancit palabuk, and the black gulaman drink. All of this paired really well with the generous amount of white rice. We definitely will come back here again and recommend this place to everyone!!

Delicious Filipino food. Good ambiance. It was busy when we went there so it was a little bit loud.

I’ve tried all of the Filipino restaurants within a 30 mile radius, and I do have to say that Isla holds it’s own. From the atmosphere, service, flat screens, round tables, it’s legit!

Definitely not recommended. Requested recommendations for spicy food, got extremely sweet food. Asked for hot sauce with waitress had to wait too long, finally other person helped. The restaurant smells as you walk inside.
