This place is crazy good. I’ve frequented other local seafood places, Bob Chin and Boston Sea Market, and have had great meals, but Islas Veracruz offers an exotic ( to me) menu, a spicy and different flair. My meal, Caldo 7 Mares, blew me away. I’ll be back to have more of the many options. Great food, great service, great price.

The seafood pineapple was delicious. Spicy salsa was actually spicy. Empanadas were just ok, I would not order them again. Service was pretty good. The margaritas were huge and tasted good, but I am not sure they had any alcohol in them. Overall pretty decent.

I walked in the door to have dinner and the first thing the girl asked me is what am I doing there? What do I need? Not sure why she would act that way why she would be rude right off the bat maybe because I’m just a big ugly guy, but she made me feel very unwelcome and I went there to spend my hard earned money and I will never walk in that door again.

Ceviche was pretty good, rice and beans OK, steak tacos were not good at all. At $20 for 3 tacos I had high expectations and what I got was a lot of grizzle. Nearly every bite had grizzle which I had to spit out and what little meat I got that was lean was rubbery and tasted like the Americanized powdered taco seasoning mix you get at any supermarket. And now the final insult which I actually think is a crime: their website lists 3 tacos for $11.99. I have my receipt, I had a soda and 3 tacos, they don’t itemize and the total was $21.99. I didn’t order ceviche so WTH is going on? Did they charge me $10 for the soda? For the soda, the ceviche, and the chair? Unbelievable. This is a 100% accurate review from an honest adult.

Food is highly overpriced. A 3.5% fee will be included due to inflation. if you have a table of 4 people or more, an 18% service charge will be added towards your bill. If the waiter has a bad attitude and throws your utensils. Deal with it. It’s not worth it, in my humble opinion.

I had the the 7 mares soup. It was good, full of flavor and comes with garlic bread on the side. To drink i ordered the agua prerarada with lime and salt which was very refreshing! Defenitly will come back to try other dishes.
