Monroe the istanbul Restaurant was established in may of 2000 in Brooklyn NY but our story dates back 3 generations. Our grand father Mehmet (also known as Memo) started a local eatery in Adana, Turkey using his homemade recipes.
He has passed down his recipes and secrets from father to son. When we first started our operations in Brooklyn, our restaurant only had 3 tables. Since then we expanded twice, acquiring our neighbor stores and now we seat over 95 guests.
We search and gather only the qualified spices from different countries, we use all-natural produces and halal meats. We adapt and accommodate our guests demands, and grow our menus for their preferences and taste. Our staff is well-trained and experienced.

We hosted a family and friends iftar dinner for 70 plus adults and children on a Saturday night at this location. I have to say we had a great experience! It is very challenging for restaurants to manage so many people but they really did a great job. The waiters were attentive and fully committed to making sure we had everything we needed. The menu was delicious and all our guests enjoyed as well. It’s nice to have a halal Turkish restaurant in the area with great service and food. The owner was very good at answering all my questions throughout the planning process and made sure he could accommodate us in any way possible. Prices were also very reasonable considering the current inflation. I will definitely be doing more events here in the future. Thanks for the great experience!

Best restaurant in Monroe with no doubt. They have incredible tasty whole breads. Before ı go home always taking this bread. Also they have great turkish food menu. My favorite is lahmacun. all ingredients fresh and delicious. And working stuff is so kind and helpfull.

Had the most delightful and abundant lunch today. Our host was very welcoming and made great suggestions. The food was absolutely delicious from the appetizer sampler to the kabobs to the fresh rice pudding. Even the warm bread and hummous were noteworthy. Would go back again and again.

Overall good food and service. The fried kibble app was still frozen in the middle, 2nd time around was better, and the eggplant which came with my dish was so dry. The lahmajun was a bit spicy. I don’t eat spicy food and the menu didn’t mention it. Overall good.

1st time customer. Food was good. There were only 5 occupied tables altogether. Service started out slow where we had to wait a couple of minutes to order but quickly picked up after we ordered. (I didn’t mind the wait since there were only 2 staff that I could see and the young woman behind the cash register was also the waitress, bus boy, etc although it would have helped if she acknowledged that she was also the waiter and would get back to us. In the beginning, I thought they had forgotten about us until she came back perhaps 15 mins later and asked for our order.)
