If there were half stars, this place would get about 2.5 realistically. It’s a different concept type of “restaurant”. I thought the building and concept was unique. It’s an open building that half is a walk up and order restaurant and the other half was a wine store.

The food was fine but the setup is very confusing. No one says hello or informs you that there is no wait staff. Ordering is done and paid for at the counter and then you retrieve your own food. We sat at our table for a good 20 mins until we realized angrily that no one was coming. Once we ordered at the counter the process was quick. Maybe a little card on the table or a word from a staff member would help let us newbies know how to get food.

Italian Market is a good place for quick Italian fare. It also features a proper wine shop. I feel the quality of the food has slipped a little recently. Still the best Italian eatery outside of Downtown Annapolis.

$13 for a Eggplant Parm sandwich…. prices have increased but some of the food (like the sub) is mediocre at best. I’ve waited about 5 visits before commenting…. I’ve been eating here for 10 years and it’s gotten to where I feel they either need to cut their prices or improve the food. One of the other. If the food is gonna be mediocre, no problem, but charge less….

The Italian Market is owned and operated by a lovely Italian family. Everyone who works for them are kind and accommodating. There are plenty of delicious menu choices and it’s a paid back and relaxing atmosphere. I usually go for a late lunch and early dinner.

We ate here for a low-key take on Valentines Day dinner. It was great! The food is excellent. Portions are large enough to satisfy but not give you the stuffed feeling. Dessert selection is awesome and includes some of the best-looking Gelato that I regrettably didn’t try (next time, though for sure)
