Been a Ivars customer since the 1970s. I like their style of fried fish, clam strips too as they are cornmeal battered vs beer batter so they are less greasy. My go to is pictured. Sometimes I’ll splurge and add chowder to my order. Glad for the Issaquah location as it’s not too far from home.

Clean restaurant/ very friendly crew. Came out on 7/8/23 ( want to acknowledge the guys working that night) Service was fast. You can usually tell how good they are by how many people are waiting on food. I usually go to the one on Coulon Park but summer time can get crazy. Might be worth the drive to come out to Issaquah. It’s a staple, so you can’t go wrong eating here. The clam chowder is excellent as is the fish and chips. I’m not sure if the tartar sauce is house-made but that was also really good.

I am not sure what all these reviews are but this is a horrible restaurant, it’s filthy most of the time. The staff are undertrained and and unengaged. This was once a great place. They had good staff, and the restaurant was always clean. What happened? New owners? Greedy owners? Certainly not involved.

The employee scraped the bottom of the empty bucket for my clam chowder and it had zero clams. I asked the manager for another bowl and he scooped it right off the top where there were no clams. Bewildered by his solution. He was very rude and unaccommodating. Make sure if you order the clam chowder they scoop from the bottom if you want to have any clams in it. The manager will weirdly try to rip you off.

Thrilled with Ivars in Issaquah. At a time when so many local fast food places here are CLOSED except for takeout, Ivar’s is open for dining.
