We stopped in here after a day on the Essex steam train and riverboat, and this little Tavern was absolutely amazing. We ordered almost the entire appetizer menu and several entrees, and everything was fantastic! I especially recommend the zucchini fries and the grilled cheese, they were both out of this world! If you’re looking for a local spot to hang in the Essex area, this place is the one for you!

I went in to get a drink. A Blue Hawaiian, very common drink. She didn’t even know how to make that. Even still I told her how to make it, I drank it, then left a 50% tip because I don’t drink much and knew I wasn’t going to have another. Now next day I’m told I’m not allowed there all because i know someone that works in the kitchen. Even though I sat there drank my drink and left I was a “distraction.” Extremely poor business decision as I planned on coming in with more people to have some food and drinks again today. I can see now why the business is failing so badly that they need to close down at random times due to staff shortage and not enough money being made. The owner is a terrible person, the staff is rude and unqualified, and the food is honestly terrible and not worth the money. EDIT: I’ve now had to call the police on the owner since she showed up to my apartment and asked my landlord to have my boyfriend come down so she can threaten him about having this review removed.

We were in the area and decided to stop here for lunch. The parking is a little tough, only a few spots available in front of restaurant, and not being familiar will area not sure where more parking is. Very cozy inside. Very pubish. The placemats even have coloring and games on the placemats for younger guests, or those of us young at heart.

I’m from out of town Arizona to be exact, but this burger the barbecue hamburger, was very delicious, huge!… it came with bacon and their barbecue sauce and the fries were just as delicious as the hamburger!

What a cozy little restaurant nestled in a beautiful town square filled with Christmas lights and sounds! The burger was gigantic and the peppermint mocha martinis were perfect to warm us up before we headed out to the Polar Express! Even ran into a Hollywood movie star at the table next to us!!
