We live at the Lake full-time now and have visited quite a few Mexican restaurants. Ixtapa is hands down the best so far. The chips are warm, thin, and super crispy. The salsa….very good. The service was great and the food was out quickly. We have been here several times and it’s always good.

We ordered the Hawaiian quesadilla (4 stars), the trio chimichanha (5 starts SO GOOD. Three different meats and flavors), burrito deluxe (4 stars, a little bland), and the burrito fajita (5 stars yummy sauce and flavor). Amazing service, food, and price. For four people it was $52, great price considering how much food we got. Before we ordered we got complementary chips and salsa, which tasted amazing. The staff was so nice and available whenever I needed something.

This is usually our go to Mexican food place. However, our last trip will be our last. My husband, who has a beef allergy, specifically ordered a chicken dish. I even told them he was allergic. They brought beef and unfortunately we did not notice until 2-3 bites in. Now my husband is in the ER with full blown gout that his regular meds haven’t touched. The sad part was the server argued with us about what we ordered! Finally brought us the chicken one but never apologized.

Excellent Service. Margaritas were Solid. Strawberry Daiquiri was basic. Chips were all hot and fresh. Their Basic Salsa seemed to be canned, but upon request they had fresh Spicy Salsa. The cheese dip was ok. Guacamole Mexicano was a disappointment. Overall a good place to snack and enjoy some company.

After we were seated, a member of our party went to the restroom and there was no soap. Okay … that happens. He told the waiter, it was then “laughed off” so another staff was notified there’s no soap. We were all horrified as we watched multiple staff members search for soap for nearly 10 mimutes. Needless to say our group left disgusted.
