This place was our first meal on the Big Island. We ordered tuna tataki, furikake shrimp, spicy tuna roll, and volcano roll. The tuna tataki was out of this world. It was lightly seared with a drizzle of ponzu and crunchy slices of garlic. My partner and I easily could’ve eaten one order to ourselves. The furikake shrimp had a sweet creamy sauce drizzled on top and was perfectly fried (only 3 pictured cause I dug in before a photo, it comes with 5). The volcano and spicy tuna roll were good as well. Great place for sushi; quick and great service. They have a few 4 top tables and some 2 tops outside. Big parties may have to wait longer depending on how busy they are.

We came at 11am on a Friday and there was no wait, got a table right away. Good waitress promptly brought us water and menus. We ordered my favorite salmon skin salad, mini tonkotsu ramen ( which was devoured before a picture could be taken), ahi katsu on skewers, house salad and the matcha zenzai dessert. Everything was delicious. The salmon salad was larger than the house salad and topped higher with veg. I enjoyed it with Caesar dressing on the side. I didn’t want to share the dessert though. I love to chew the mochi balls and the green tea ice cream!

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been here; I love this restaurant. It’s located in the Brew Block across from the Kona Brewing Company. If you time it right, when it opens, the service is excellent and the food comes out quickly. It’s a small place, but the quality of food is phenomenal! Have you ever had Kampachi? It’s my favorite fish, and they serve sashimi Kampachi. So delicious! Also, try the Chirashi & Matcha Shiratama Zenzai. Tasty stuff. My favorite item on their menu is the garlic Ramen bowl. The flavors are unreal. This restaurant is located right next to HICO coffee, great for date night. There’s no ocean view; it’s slightly inland.

Overall good food. We went for dinner and ordered the Chirashi bowl, unagi bowl, and oyster. They used a Japanese-style bowl to serve the unagi bowl which is nice. It’s a really busy area at night (there’s a brewing company and another popular restaurant nearby), so I’d recommend go there early

Big menu, great food and awesome vegan friendly options! AND Fantastic service. We were 2 people and came in on the day of the mask mandate lift, plus there was a huge concert at the venue next door. Nonetheless, we got on the wait list and were called moments after with an available table. The lovely hostess made sure we got a table as quick as possible and was constantly making sure we are good and comfortable. For drinks we ordered hot Sake and a beer (the perfect combo) and cozy ambiance in and out. Truly a 10/10 for me.

The squid karaage, eel bento, and sushi were decent. The beef kushikatsu was crunchy but a bit chewy. The coffee jelly/pudding had great flavor and texture but the mochi balls that came with the green tea ice cream was a bit hard in the middle so they maybe could have been cooked a little longer.

We came here for dinner and it felt much less touristy than other places in Kona. The sushi was good and the ramen was even better! The wait staff was attentive and went above and beyond to help us retrieve our lost item. The shopping center it is in can be busy at peak times but we were still able to find parking and only waited a few minutes for a table. Overall, definitely worth a try if you are in the area!

Food and service were excellent! Authentic Japanese izakaya menu. Their fish, either sashimi or sushi or grilled, tasted very good and fresh. Definitely will visit again when I have the chance to come to Big Island next time!

Vegan sushi set was excellent! Very simple ingredients but they were cooked and seasoned very well. It’s rare to see a vegan nigiri set so thank you so much for having this!! Sake selection was impressive!
