Loved this place! The atmosphere was vibrant and the menu has a bit of everything for everyone. The skewers were definitely the highlight and we’re excited to go back and try them all.

It was so good! Try the Slider (Burger), that was the best burger I’ve ever had! All the other things we had were very good as well! I would recommend to share small bites.

It was a very cozy spot for 4 people group on a Thursday night. I heard they are opening a second spot in Manhattan. I cannot wait to check out the new location too! The food was great so as the service. I highly recommend the yakitori here. I will definitely stop by to try other menus next time.

I’ve been here a few times and while I don’t consider it to be the gold standard of izakayas (which I find are rare in NY), it does scratch the itch I developed in Asia for yakitori. But this place does have the vibe, service is good, and they do have a good range of yakitori options including chicken skin and cartilage – two of my favorites – which are both decent. So yeah, I’ll be back.

This place is one of my new favorite izakaya’s in NYC. This little gem never disappoints. The food is very good and not too expensive. The short rib and fried oysters are at the top of my list. On the downside, if you use the bathroom you’re basically in the kitchen and with all due respect you’re treated like you’re in the way (which you are). I never knew who my server was so I didn’t order seconds. Overall I would highly suggest that you check this place out for yourself. I will be back next time I’m in the city!

I spent a week in NYC eating at various great restaurants, and the Motsunabe here was the best thing I ate this whole trip. Also had excellent yakitori, kushikatsu, and okonomiyaki! Great and authentic Japanese izakaya dining.
