After looking for a new Japanese restaurant to try around the area, we stumbled upon Izu and it was a nice find. The service was sub par as our server was very meek and rushed, but the food tasted delicious! Their chicken katsu and their ginger pork were absolutely amazing and they gave huge portions. Their sushi was good (I forgot which one I ordered but it had crab and lobster tempura) but it had a little too much rice for my liking. The only thing that made this a 4 star visit was their plating which was mostly disposable forks and plates for the appetizers (such as the soup and salad). I would totally come here if I was looking for a filling meal.

Absolutely horrendous service and food. We waited a hour for warm sushi and low-quality sashimi. Soups and salads that were supposed to come with/before the food came after in to-go boxes. There were cardboard boxes stored under the table, crowding our feet. Overall, the experience was like eating sushi in a dive bar but without the booze.
