Izumi is a gem from over the years. Coming back to the area, I was so happy with the size and flavor of the rolls. Even the Five Star and Rocklin roll are staples to Izumi and still so good! Their bento box is awesome too. Very simple ambience in restaurant and very nice team who works here. I saw a sign that they and the best tempura shrimp from a magazine review – And I didn’t think much of it. But they were right – super crunchy and quality batter.

Came here the other night for some dinner with my family. Had a good time. We were really hungry so we ordered 5 rolls and could only finish 3 of them. The rolls are really big (not complaining). Next time we’ll only order 3.

My family and I have been coming here for YEARS. I wish more people knew about this place. They have some of the BEST sashimi around, THICK cuts of salmon and always fast, fresh and delicious. Their prices are great and they give you a lot of food. I still come here whenever I need good sushi even though I live several cities over. Can’t say enough good things about this place, they deserve a million more customers for such a hidden gem <3

This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the area. It’s been around for at least 15 years and Steve has perfected the taste of sushi. The portions are really big and the rice has a sweeter taste to it. They recently got the izumi floating boats working in the center bar again. I really love this sushi restaurant more than any other one.

($$) three stars off the bat for environment, location and service. The service was prompt and efficient, if not friendly (I ordered TOGO). The atmosphere is typical of a sushi place – utilitarian and decorated in cultural accents. The sushi boat moat that travels around the main dining bar is a nice touch. I made my selections from the 50% discount menu, a trend among sushi restaurants in this part of the country. I tried the Roseville roll, the Guru roll and the River Cat roll – each roll less than $8.25 for a total of $25 and change for the 3 rolls. That is comparable to other local sushi spots that offer similar menus. Each roll was colorful and had no hint of a fishy smell. The ingredients were tasty and meshed well in my mouth. No complaints here and a satisfied belly earned the fourth star.

I have a gluten allergy and I was in here about a week ago. I mentioned that I have a gluten allergy. The waitress wrote the ticket correct and explained it to the sushi chefs. But unfortunately it was made wrong. With more frustration than ever I had to drive back to the store. They immediately fixed the problem. But it’s unfortunate I can’t fully trust them anymore. There food is amazing. If you DON’T have a gluten allergy. I can honestly say there food is ***** stars.. Double check your food
