J. Dolan’s is one of the go to spots that my friend and myself have gone to quite a bit. All I can say are good things related to food, service and atmosphere. Although, some nights are so loud I felt like I had to yell while others weren’t so much. More often than not, the specials are off the chain, and can’t go wrong with the top notch service and recommendations from the staff.

J Dolan’s (Kahala) From time to time 5-10 colleagues & I would go to J Dolan’s in downtown for happy hour and pizza. After Covid, very few go into the office and practically no one is in the office after 3 pm, so no more happy hours. (I miss those days). Now, J Dolan’s has opened a bar a quarter mile from my home in the new Foodland strip mall in Kahala. We ordered a 6 cheese pizza and added, garlic, mushrooms and spinach for our happy hour and it was very good. Their pizzas are good, but their appetizers (calamari, chicken wings, fries) are plain and boring.

Staff great. Pizza was good, a bit above average, but overpriced. Onion rings overcooked. Tried to order wings. I prefer ranch over blue cheese. They refuse to serve ranch. According to staff, they refuse to carry it because they don’t want people using it on their pizza?? Asked for a side of Buffalo sauce instead. Was told, we don’t have that either. An entire pizza took longer to come out than a slice of plain cheese. TBH…your usual Oahu place.

Second location for what used to be J.J. Dolan’s, but the same delicious pizza. Their menu isn’t complex, although their shoestring fries are hard to stop yourself from eating while waiting on your pizza (in my experience). They also do take-out!

The service was great. We went a little early to avoid the weekend lunch rush. We ordered the Chicken wings, onion rings and two pizzas. Everything tasted good. The Heffaweissen and Malto Firmaggio is definitely something we’re going to come back for.

If you have ever been to the downtown location then you know how great this place is. We got there just slightly after opening and we were able to get seated right away. The crowd slowly trickled in for lunch but there was still seats available. The pizza was just as good as the original location. Just a tip for anyone that has never been here before, you can actually order a whole pizza but make it half/half with two different style pizzas. I usually want to eat more than one style pizza so this is a nice option to have. The parking is way better at this location than downtown so I’d prefer to go to this location if I am ever craving for J. Dolan’s.

We did half and half pizza (half Boardwalk Pie and half Giacomo) – we liked both, but liked the Boardwalk Pie more! We got one pizza to split between three people, which was 8 pieces and just enough food. The crust is thin and crispy. I only wish there were more dipping sauces, but that might be on us for not asking.
