This restaurant has plenty of seating and has inviting owners. We only tried the ramen which was flavorful and the pork belly was the star of the show. The broth is flavorful and filling. I was kind of surprised by the lack of vegetables though. Food comes out kind of slow but it is hot and fresh. Plenty of parking.

Tuna tataki and seaweed salad were great, garlic tonkotsu ramen was average. (Our usual go to spot Yua Ramen in Edmonds is slightly cheaper and way better for ramen, and wonderful customer service even when they’re busy). The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere, overall we had an okay experience BUT the staff were cold and didn’t make us feel welcome, they didn’t check on us during our meal or refill water when we ran out. We were the only ones dining in so there’s no excuse for them to not be attentive. We spent $65 including a generous tip, but even if we only spent $10 we and all customers who are respectful deserve to feel welcome. Please be more kind to your customers. Bad customer service can make even the best food leave a bad taste.

Love the Ramen! The broth was light and savory. Noodles were chewy and perfect slurping texture.

Ramen is really tasty. Service is very slow since there is only 2 people working (cook/server).

Restaurant itself has great interior and design, the staff was average and the Takoyaki was amazing. Have to take away two stars as the quality of the Ramen there was very bad. I had the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen and the broth was very watery and almost had no taste, the noodles were soggy and some were clumped together, and the toppings were not great either. The eggs were very very soft and not like Ajitsuke Tamagos, the meat was quite hard and not like standard Chashu at all and all ramen were described to be Tonkotsu Ramen in the menu. I also tried the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen just in case it was just the miso ramen that was faulty and they were sadly very similar. If I were to go this restaurant again, it’d only be for Sushi and Takoyaki, not for Ramen.

J Ramen & Sushi is a tiny li’l place with a big ol’ well-deserved reputation! I’m definitely going back to try their ramen -which is what they’re most known for.

Heard about it so we went. We enjoyed it a lot. Easier to see the quality in the pics vs trying to describe it all. Very tasty, savory, not-too-salty. Enjoyed every bite. My first dabble in eel. It has the taste and texture of smoked trout. Who knew? On our list now for places to go.

First time here and it was solid!! Food overall was 5 stars. Service was good but sushi was quite delayed. We were warned ahead of time, though, so they know this is an issue. Spicy tonkatsu was well done and the takoyaki was some of the best I have had both in Japan and in the US. Sushi was fresh and on point. Will definitely be back!!

J is an amazing owner/host, super friendly and inviting, smaller menu size but the food is top tier quality and is made consistently every time. Quality ramen teriyaki and sushi made fresh to order. Wouldn’t recommend any other sushi place! Love love LOVE this place!!! <3

I had the Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen : Pork belly, bamboo, corn, bean sprouts, green onions, garlic crisps & egg. I added a little salt and chili powder to bump the broth flavor a bit (for my own taste preference, the base was delicious). Very tasty!
